'They actually are achieving the opposite direction'

The Obama administration’s criticism of the current Israeli government only serves to make Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Likud party more popular with the electorate, charged Likud Knesset Member Danny Danon in a U.S. radio interview Sunday.

Danon was speaking on “Aaron Klein Investigative Radio” on New York’s AM 970 The Answer.

Danon had been asked about some recent accusations the Obama administration may be trying to influence the March 17 general elections in Israel by repeatedly criticizing Netanyahu’s policies.

The Likud politician charged “there are a few people in the administration who sometimes want to get involved and I can tell you one thing. Whenever somebody tries to get involved in our politics they actually are achieving the opposite direction.”(continued)

Perhaps the Israelis are smarter than Americans and have figured out that Obama is a Muslim terrorist in the pay of the Saudis out to destroy Israel? Israelis are much smarter than Zer0 thinks. Ninety-nine percent of Israelis are not suicidal.

the Israelis know all about O.
they have to be realistic (their govt of favorite big ally has been taken over by an enemy of both nations)

they do their best to (imperfectly) maintain what cordiality they can under the circumstances

which can’t be easy even at that.

What impact that support had on Ehud’s election is another question. Bibi had infuriated the right by ceding most of Hebron to the PA, and the left by failing to make piece and getting Clinton mad at him. His exit was a foregone conclusion. Ehud might have gotten more seats in the Knesset without Clinton’s intervention. I might have been a trolly if I had wheels.
