Did the Obama administration put a journalist under surveillance for reporting critically on its activities? Former CBS reporter Sharyl Attkisson says yes and she wants $35 million in damages from the Department of Justice for it. Attkisson filed a series of legal motions today that claim the DoJ hacked into her computer and attacked her professionally:
In a series of legal filings that seek $35 million in damages, Attkisson alleges that three separate computer forensic exams showed that hackers used sophisticated methods to surreptitiously monitor her work between 2011 and 2013.
In the lawsuit and related claims against the Postal Service, filed in Washington, Attkisson says the intruders installed and periodically refreshed software to steal data and obtain passwords on her home and work computers. She also charges that the hackers monitored her audio using a Skype account.
The award-winning reporter says she and her attorneys have pretty good evidence that these efforts were connected to the Justice Department. She said she was caught in a Catch-22, forcing her to use the lawsuit and an administrative complaint to discover more about the surveillance through the discovery process and to learn the identities of the John Does named in the complaints.

I believe that she said the hacks were made to be obvious with the main purpose to intimidate her.

I’ve seen that video also.
Looks pretty fishy to me. I don’t think you can blame it on a newspaper or a spill on the keyboard.

Maybe she could contact Congressman Issa, he could put on another Dog and Pony show, then proclaim everyone innocent of everything Again.
Pretty damned sad when Private Citizens have to do the JOB CONGRESS WAS ELECTED TO DO!

I believe that she said the hacks were made to be obvious with the main purpose to intimidate her.I'm a software engineer. On multiple occasions over the years I have witnessed my own computers doing very similar things to what hers is doing in her poorly shot video (landscape, not portrait!).
In every case, it was caused by a hardware problem. Either the keyboard just went bad, or I had recently spilled something into the keyboard, or something was pressing keys on a wirelessly (and out of sight/mind) connected keyboard.
At no time did it turn out to be that my computer had been hacked.
If I had hacked into her computer for the purposes of intimidating her, I'd have sent:
Command-A (select all)
Command-X (cut)
We are watching you!
Command-A (select all)
Command-V (paste)
In her case, it looks like Command-Z (two keys which are kitty-corner from each other on both my Macbook, and the bluetooth keyboard I use with it) is being held down (undo), so all of her previous typing and formatting gets undone.

Sharyl Attkisson is filing suit against the Department of (In)Justice for breaking into her home (and work?) iMac computers. Note, although much was made about this being accomplished by way of an email, that was not how it was done. Her home had an unauthorized Fiber Optic cable installed as well as her computer invaded. . . so the invasion was a physical hack. . . Whoever broke in to her computer had physical possession of not only her computer to break into it, but also of her entire home to install the Fiber Optic cable to install their own network for the hardware hack they installed. It was NOT a software hack. This was a very sophisticated surveillance operation!
Forensic information specialists also found government documents hidden on her computer that were listed as "Confidential" and "CLASSIFIED" which she did not put on her computer. These had obviously been placed in a hidden location for future "discovery" for potential criminal prosecution. PING!

Yes. Why is this not a criminal matter? Because those who have the power to bring criminal charges are the ones committing the crimes?

It didn't even have to be two keys. A stuck backspace key would have caused exactly what was shown on her video of the supposed "hack"

While she may not collect a dime, the evidence produced in this lawsuit should be fascinating and will likely point back to the Obama White House.

Libs have changed their name to progressive to avoid the stench associated with the old terminology. In similar fashion, queers now call themselves gay.

We could use a few more patriots like Sharyl Attkisson.
To: Eric in the Ozarks
Do we know for sure she is a patriot? CBS is not in the habit of hiring patriots.
