As I understand it, the only issue is was he born to parents who are current US citizens? McCain had a similar problem being born in Panama, but both of his parents were US Citizens at the time so the issue was moot.
There’s a whole lot of naturalized versus natural born if anyone wants to muddle through it all. That’s why 0bama, technically, should have not cleared vetting. The left changed it to only needing the mother to be a citizen. Without the media/press or the GOP candidate making an issue of it nothing resulted.
I saw that, too, in one of the articles in the links Maggie posted. However, the story is from a few years ago, so unless they’ve still been holding it (as mentioned below)and/or you have a more recent reference, I don’t think it will be a big issue now:
Liberal media goes on attack against GOPs Boehner

“Insiders on Capitol Hill are buzzing about an upcoming New York Times exposé that will detail an alleged Boehner affair. Sources say the Times is looking for the right time to drop the story in October to sway the election, similar to how the Times reported during the 2008 presidential campaign on an alleged John McCain affair that supposedly had taken place many years before and that was flatly denied by the woman in question.”

I agree with your opinion! :-)
Liberal meme of the morning; “Will Republican ‘work’ with Obama? “
HOW COME THEY NEVER ASK IF DEMOCRATS WILL WORK WITH REPUBLICANS IN CONGRESS?
Congratulations on the Ducks win, bray! Great news. Our Huskies lost :-( However, my Seahawks are NFC West Champs - here’s hoping for their win next weekend!
Go HAWKS!
I need to do some more research and see if there is anything more current on Boehner. You are absolutey correct three or four year old stuff won’t do us much good.
I didn’t know so I looked it up too. Yep, Cruz would have the same problem, IMHO.
All this just goes to show us that we can mess up even the smallest or simplest rule or law.
Agreed. Bring it on. It would screw both the left AND the media/press.
Yep, we have to keep our eye on the ball and not get sidetracked.
Now that is great news to get up to in the morning!
Apparently a lot of people hate the Noles. We had fun with the tomahawk chop chanting on First Down. 14 hour drive each way, but worth it.
Go Ducks
Please pay attention to the Ravens.
I’m jus’ sayin’.
See post 94
The “right time” for the NYT to post the Boehner story will be AFTER he wins the Speakership. They will try to cut off the remaining cojones he might have left then, but they certainly want him over someone like Gohmert.
I understand. It’s also true with ex-Democrats who become Republicans. More often than not they can better represent our side more articulately because they have been on both sides of the argument.
That’s why Michael Medved has such a following. He was raised as a radical leftist and changed to the GOP.
Huckabee-couldn’t watch it, his sense of humor is too dry and he has very bad timing when he makes a joke.
Thanks Fish, I don’t really follow the pros. I am a pure college FB fan and grew up in Eugene and Oregon sports.
Go Ducks
As I said before, the rest of the GOP can use a scandal story—even an old one—to cover for their vote against him.
Regardless of the outcome of the vote for Speaker, Boehner is damaged goods.
It’s not the end of the world, and I feel FINE!!!
