"...civil liberties groups argue the ban is little more than another means of racial profiling." I don't agree it's racial, but I think is a baaad idea.

Similar laws are already on the books in 10 states around the country, including Florida, California, New York and Washington, DC. No, really? If they ban them in CT I'll wear one everyday. This is nuts.

Who comes up with these craptastic ideas? The sad part is there are morons out there who will actually support this in the name of crime prevention. Maybe we deserve to lose our God given freedoms, we keep voting these asshats into office.

What good will that do?
What is a hoodie? Anything with a pull over my head cover?
Stupid idea!
Here’s a better one: everyone arm themselves. Shoot down any thug that accosts you. Crime will plummet.

Unbelievable! Are they going to fine old white women who were those ‘hoodies’, which is nothing more than a sweatshirt jacket with a zipper and a hood.
While the murderers buy a different jacket and kill people.
Brilliant idiots. (s)

Anyone who works outside in cold weather wears some type of hooded sweat shirt, jacket etc. This moron probably never worked a day in his life.
To: Kozak
Concealment of ones identity has often been outlawed. The courts correctly decided the honest had no need for face masks, Burqa, or hoodies.
Yeah, I know monks wore hooded garments, but inside the monastery - where crime was rare.

Here in Oklahoma we get some winners in the state legislature.
We had another winner year ago, John Monks who was drinking from a coffee cup marked as fine china. He complained that manufacturing jobs were leaving the USA for China.

So glad I don’t live in Oklahoma.

How about just requiring everyone to wear a barcode on the front and back of their shirts for identification purposes?

I saw a prominent sign posted on the door of a small store. It read, “If you wear a hoodie with the hood up in here the police will be called.” Especially in Florida, if you’re covering your head with a hoodie, it means one of two things, you’re making a political statement, or you’re robbing the place. It’s difficult for a checkout clerk to tell the difference unit it’s too late. When it was cold, briefly, and I wore one, I dropped the hood on entering a gas station. (BTW, I’m Caucasian.)
