Rep. Thomas Massie: I Am Not Voting for Boehner on Tuesday
Breitbart ^ | January, 3, 2015 | by MATTHEW BOYLE

Posted on 01/03/2015 12:26:42 PM PST by Jim Robinson

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) issued a statement on Saturday detailing why he’s going to vote against House Speaker John Boehner’s re-election on Tuesday.

Massie, who’s entering his second term as a member from Kentucky, now becomes the second Republican House member announcing the coming rebellion against Boehner.

Massie joins Rep. Jim Bridenstine (R-OK) in the fight for fresh leadership, and in his statement he detailed how Boehner and his leadership actually have misled members of the House GOP conference.

“For years I watched Washington from afar and suspected that something was broken. Why is it that so many people approve of their congressman, yet they consistently disapprove of Congress? During my first two years as a congressman I discovered a significant source of the dysfunction,” Massie said, before detailing several bad things that he “watched the House Leadership” do.

The list Massie reported focused mostly on Boehner’s work on the so-called “CRomnibus” $1.1 trillion spending bill.

Massie said that Boehner “schedule[d] a fiscal crisis in a lame duck session on the last legislative day before Christmas to get maximum leverage over rank and file members” and then worked to “mislead members into thinking that a vote on an unpopular bill was postponed, only to then conduct a rushed voice vote on the $10 billion unfunded spending measure with fewer than a dozen members present.”

Boehner also made sure to “give members less than 72 hours to read bills over 1,000 pages long, and,” Massie said, has proven he will “remove members from committees simply because they voted for the principles upon which they campaigned.”

“I feel zero pity for anyone that took part in that and hope they get everything those two have in store for them.”

When all is said and done, the person who is responsible for all of our freedom is the person who stares back at us in the mirror. If significant numbers of folks come to the realization that electoral politics is the road to perdition, then it’ll be a positive end result.

Thats whats so great about sticking to principle. You can keep using mirrors without seeing the guy that took part in destroying the country.

God Bless him. Massie’s written statement sounds like a message spoken directly from his heart.

Great that he came out publicly with this statement.

Boehner supports Obama and the Chamber of Commerce. If they vote for Boehner, then they are also complicit in supporting the Obama agenda and the Chamber of Commerce.

Boehner punishes those who do not support his liberal agenda. Well, conservatives will remember those who supported him when it comes to re-election. Hope they will enjoy retirement as much.

Very well stated.

‘Sacrifice” is not a word many people today think applies to themselves. Most often it is something expected of others to do.

But ‘sacrifice’ is indeed what will be required. You cannot stop a tyranny via civil means.

Like minded conservatives House members should form a Conservative Caucus to get organized to oppose Rino agenda and Boehner.

This vote will help to establish the pattern for the upcoming campaign. If Bonehead gets back in or another RINO we will see a slew of Moderate republicans/ RINO’s in the primaries. On the other hand if we can get a real legitimate conservative it will send a message to the rest of the posssers. Same thing in the Senate. The Majority leader must be a solid conservative. If McConnell is in we are screwed.

Wasn’t McClintock the guy many FReepers rallying around in 2008? Saying he was one of the few true conservatives left? Well scratch him off the list now if he thinks McConnell or Bohner is conservative.

Yeah, and his defense of them were just so lame.

Conservatives who go to DC do seem to be quickly infected by Potomac fever rather quickly!

You sure it’s Potomac Fever and not K-Street Syndrome?

Civility went out the window about 8 years ago...

Sure, we have had some gains back, but when that happens that is when they want to go all bi-partisan, and reach across the aisle, need to get things done, and stop flirting with government gridlock and shutdowns...

Screw that...I love it everytime it gets close...Its like cheese thru a goose...Its gonna choke yer butt everytime!!! And that’s a good thing when it causes them this much heartache...

The can has not only been kicked down the road, it is literally off the road, and cannot be kicked any further...

The opposition is daring conservatives to rise up to be pummeled by our own, and the media...

All they have to do is basically sit back and pop popcorn and watch the show...

A pathetic deficient group of self anointed high and mighties as there ever has been...

I’ve said it before, and its coming to us again...

Fire every single one of them, even if you like them, and think they are great...They’ll live...Like the rest of us...

I know for a fact we could find replacements for every single one of them out of the active participants here on this website...All the way from local entities, to the state houses, and that psycho-ward up in D.C., and we could do it today...

But alas, I regret I only have one life to give for my countrymen...;-)
