American leftism has gotten an awful lot of mileage by monopolizing the moral high ground. It is the sole force in American that favors the poor. The sole enemy of racism. The sole comforter of rape victims. The sole protector of defenseless Muslims. The sole guardian of the environment, and so on ad nauseum.
It all falls apart eventually--with friends like the left, nobody needs enemies. But often overlooked is that fact that it’s bogus from the start. Any prolonged glance at the left reveals it to be an ideology of power, its major tool violence, its goal revenge.
Leftism has always been about revenge. The works of Marx are filled with fantasies of retribution and judgment. Their tone reeks of resentment and paranoia,with blame cast for even the most trivial. "The bourgeoisie,” Marx once declared in a letter to Engels, “will remember my carbuncles until their dying day.” That’s leftism in a nutshell.
The Paris communards of 1870, the first instance of an actual leftist government-in-being,immediately began shooting bourgeois on taking power, giving full rein to the European hatred for the middle class that is all but incomprehensible to Americans. That practice has been repeated by every hard left government that has ever taken power--the USSR, communist China, Castroite Cuba, Pol Pot’s Kampuchea, down to minor examples such as Bela Kun’s Hungarian “Regime of Light” (1919), which reintroduced the Roman practice of decimation.
This unvarying tendency toward atrocity suggests that all these regimes had something in common, and it’s not that they all suffered from boils. It’s the lust for vengeance--revenge for slights and crimes either real or imaginary, that can be found in every leftist from Nechaev to Bill Ayers. No less than Barack Obama spilled that when,his back apparently against the wall in 2012, he began ranting about “voting for revenge”...

I saw these leftists in college in the early seventies. They absolutely hated the way our society was structured. They all had “chips on their shoulders” about everything. Most of them had serious mental problems. You could not talk to them. They would explode if you tried to debate them. I could not stand these rat bastards then and I still can’t.
....but it is getting to be annoying as hell...
Many of today’s leftist are still angry even when they supposedly have won. Its’ the default emotion of habit.
When all else fails, get angry and start pointing fingers.

The idealistic missionaries in this true tale bite their tongues and betray their principles, rather than betray him. They do so because in Bill Clinton they see a necessary vehicle of their noble ambition and uplifting dreams. He, too, cares about social justice, about poor people and blacks (or so he makes them believe). They will serve him and lie for him and destroy for him, because he is the vessel of their hope.
Because Bill Clinton "cares," he is the vital connection to the power they need to accomplish the redemption. Because the keys to the state are within Clinton's grasp, he becomes in their eyes the only prospect for advancing the progressive cause. Therefore, they will sacrifice anything and everything—principle, friends, country—to make him succeed.
But Bill Clinton is not like those who worship him, corrupting himself and others for a higher cause. Unlike them, he betrays principles because he has none. He will even betray his country, but without the slightest need to betray it for something else—for an idea, a party, or a cause.* He is a narcissist who sacrifices principle for power because his vision is so filled with himself that he cannot tell the difference.
But the idealists who serve him—the Stephanopoulos's, the Ickes's, the feminists, the progressives and Hillary Clinton—can tell the difference. Their cynicism flows from the very perception they have of right and wrong. They do it for higher ends. They do it for the progressive faith. They do it because they see themselves as having the power to redeem the world from evil. It is that terrifyingly exalted ambition that fuels their spiritual arrogance and justifies their sordid and, if necessary, criminal means.
And that is why they hate conservatives. They hate you because you are killers of their dream. Because you are defenders of a Constitution that thwarts their cause. They hate you because your "reactionary" commitment to individual rights, to a single standard and to a neutral and limited state obstructs their progressive designs. They hate you because you are believers in property and its rights as the cornerstones of prosperity and human freedom; because you do not see the market economy as a mere instrument for acquiring personal wealth and political war chests, to be overcome in the end by bureaucratic schemes.
Conservatives who think progressives are misinformed idealists will forever be blind-sided by the malice of the left—by the cynicism of those who pride themselves on principle, by the viciousness of those who champion sensitivity, by the intolerance of those who call themselves liberal, and by the ruthless disregard for the well-being of the downtrodden by those who preen themselves as social saints.

I agree and would add that they just keep repeating the same talking pointsand expect you to believe as they do
And now they're employed by teachers unions, they monopolize liberal media outlets and they've run for high office (and been elected) locally, to state offices and are entrenched in our Federal government.
Their postmodern philosophy (actively pushed in schools, by the media and big government) has killed the notion of responsibility and morality, and it is killing our nation.
As to the left in America I am starting to feel very vengeful myself I hope I live long enough to participate in “payback time”

The most significant thing the left has is a major news media, stacked full of leftists, who have the Revolutionary agenda in place and they definitely practice, “the end justifies the means," method. Good people who know that the real goal of the left is annihilation of those who disagree with them, even in the tiniest matter, are horrified at the lies that are passed for truth by the media and by the endorsement of everything politicians of the left say or do. When I see the arrogance of these people, I wonder if Cocaine or some other mild altering substance is being liberally used on a regular basis. No one in their right mind would willingly, with gusto, try to decimate their nation like these people have. In reality, looking back at history, those who started Revolutions didn't fare so well in the end. Oh, they changed things alright, but most of them did not get to enjoy the spoils for very long.
It's the mind altering drug of indoctrination - the teaching by progressives (and those taught by progressives in "Schools of Education") that America is evil and that our Constitution has hurt the rest of the world (people, planet) -- the constant drumbeat coming from progressive elites working in tandem to discredit and eventually destroy freedom and liberty that flows from capitalism, and God and protected by the 2nd Amendment.
As mentioned above, if you convince enough people (free them up and give them permission to be violent) to act on your behave by telling them they're victims of the productive members of society, you can tear down a country.
