This whole “pride” thing is a fool’s construct meant to bully acceptance for a position that is not logical, nor perpetuating in terms of being self-sustaining.
It is an aberration that crops up, but it is by no means ‘normal’. They, media and politicians would have us believe they are a very significant part of the overall population. They clearly are so very not.

I think they’ve been manipulated into it by the commies. It is certainly not in their own best interests, because when the push too far, there will be a backlash and they will end up worse off than before.
The bible account explains a lot, though not always on the level of detail that the mere curious might want. Just enough to back up the validity of the salvation-by-faith paradigm.
Sin has a dimension that transcends the mortal. Very happily, so does righteousness, and God chose to include actual salvation in His picture of righteousness — He was not content to just sit back and damn the world even though it would deserve that.
