Every time the west says Russia is toast, Russia keeps humming along. Where are the Russians getting all the money to pay their debts and buy gold if they are in such bad shape?

Big difference between little guy on the street and the billionaire folks. Cash flow is being reshaped right now. US and Euro currency will dominate cash transactions over the next year unless something changes. You can’t run a legit country....where a quarter of all transactions involve a currency of another country.

At the present time, no, we cannot.
The United States government, particularly its executive branch, is currently peopled ENTIRELY with inveterate liars and anti-U.S. scumbags.

every time the west says Russia is toast, Russia keeps humming alongIt's in their culture and nature to persevere. I'm wondering if a long-term consequence of the global economic mess is Russia will become less dependent on the west and its sanctions and global manipulation of currencies.

Not when it’s run by enemies of the U.S.

GilGil,
Russian Central Bank was buying gold from Russian gold miners FOR ROUBLES. Putin just made them an offer they could not refuse.

In a very warped kind of way, what is happening is for the best. Russia and China and probably others will develop their own systems which will foster a lot more competition throughout the world. The US is at its best when it competes instead of bullying the world to serve just a few.

And of course, the bedbug infestations are caused by EPA lies about pesticides.

the huge positive is that we have the web which makes getting to the facts much easier. If we were back in 1940 we would be screwed beyond hope.

Can We Believe Anything Coming From The U.S. Government? I believe that what I hear from the government is probably a lie.
Does that count?
To: Trapped Behind Enemy Lines
I disagree. We can believe SOME of the stuff coming out of the gov’t, but only after independent researcy and validation on our own.
I would rephrase it to: “Blindly trust NOTHING, verify everything”. Sound familiar?
