Wait until they tally up the loss of revenue usually generated by the citations that are now not being written...

And that’s the bottom line. The loss of revenue. Money is the always the driver for almost everything.....

Wait until they tally up the loss of revenue usually generated by the citations that are now not being written...I have been wondering that myself. When gaping holes start to appear in the money flow, will there be an over-reaction to "make up" that revenue? My bet is the decent citizenry (i.e., safer areas) will catch the brunt of it and find themselves being micro-managed by laws they hardly knew existed. Secondary to all this is the message being sent; "Keep up the attempts on cops lives and thugs can create "no-go" zones and operate with impunity".

They’ll just make it up in taxes. If there’s one thing liberals can’t abide it’s an actual drop in spending money.

There is something wrong with a culture that depends on crime to generate revenue!!!

Just catching up. The following is from the article:
“Citations for traffic violations fell by 94 percent, from 10,069 to 587, during that time frame.
Summonses for low-level offenses like public drinking and urination also plunged 94 percent from 4,831 to 300.
Even parking violations are way down, dropping by 92 percent, from 14,699 to 1,241”.

What I was thinking. Cops are like anyone else are will look forward to arrests of people possessing 16 ounce cups of soda if that keeps them employed. Being libertarian minded I always see law enforcement as a necessary evil to be watched.
