Why isn’t this vote secret?
RE: Conservative Lawmakers Plan To Vote Against Boehner For Speaker
Unfortunately they’re outnumbered and there are not enough of them...
.....These potential defectors are mostly keeping quiet about it in public....
These men/women should be drumming up support to oust Boehner and calling for an open vote in doing so. This is no time be keeping quiet, they should raise the roof.
An open vote vs secret behind doors vote will out the people who are being being payed off with chairmanships and are Boehner followers.
Yup. One of the big lessons that came out of the failed Bevins campaign in KY last year was to always thoroughly research any and every group you plan to appear before.
There’s a double standard, certainly, and lifer isn’t fair. This guy needs to go back to being a backbencher. The positive is that there’s a chance to get a good Conservative into that position, rather than another Boehner crony. Like how the Dems destroyed John Towers for SecDef, which led to Cheney being his replacment and opened the door for the elevation of Newt Gingrich ...
I suspect he wants to clear out all the rivals for when Bonehead gets his big check from K street pals and sails off to Marco Island .
McCarthy is a ultimate evil hack.and power hungry monster. He sold out the Calif Gop during redistricting to spare his gerrymandered district.
His actions ensured the Ca Gop state house lost so many seats that the Dems radical agenda can not be blocked ever again.
95 percent of Republican elected officials either fake conservatism or repudiate it.
Because of the increased Republican majority in the House, 20 plus Republicans will be able to look good, oppose Boehner and he will still be elected Speaker by a 218 or more vote majority.
And why did they back out? That is the big question!
Bribes, threats? I’m so tired of this world.
My congressman (Scott Perry of PA) had Boehner speak at a fundraiser for him in the district last year. His excuse for voting for Boehner two years ago was that the alternative was Nancy Pelosi.
The process described in this article tells me that if Perry had opposed Boehner, another name would have been put forward.
If enough Republicans had stood up to him two years ago, there would have been a different Speaker who was a Republican.
Hell. It isn’t like he was MEMBER of the KKK or anything.....
“The cryin oompah-loompah and Yertle McTurd-le gotta go.”
May I please use that for my new tagline? It is pure poetry! :)
Aye, go for it.
Their principal responsibility is to preserve and protect the Constitution.
Can't do that if the RINOs kick you out as "too extreme to be effective." Look, I'm not excusing what they did, I am explaining that there are countervailing considerations that vary by the individual. That's just how things are.
Thanks!
Throw a bone by letting first vote fail. Then GOPe can rescue B
And which one of them is running against him? Answer: none.
They should step up, or shut up.
Tom Massie is a Paultard BTW.
Do, or do not. There is no try.
More WORDS. More posturing. More BULLSH!T
Where was all the bluster, all the bravado when the Cryer of the House rammed through cromnibus? Where were the rules adhered for all bills? Nobody seems to remember those rules, nor whom proposed them...
If only the (C) would remember, and HOLD, the elected to their ‘promises’, their votes...let alone their Constitutional duty. Instead we get more of the evil of the two lessers.
Yet, I was called everything BUT the Son of God for voting (L)...my convictions (even if I don’t believe their platform 100%). At least they give then the 0% the (R) have since the 80’s.
The ones who back out are the same type who run off the battlefield during the heat of the battle.
