"It uses 4 self-locking ball-joints for quick and easy attachment.
By attaching The FIREFLY your manual wheelchair becomes an electric wheelchair, thereby allowing for greater range and speed.
The FIREFLY is designed primarily for use outdoors and has a maximum reach of 30 km. It runs forward and backwards.
Due to its small turning radius though, it can also be used indoors in, for example, public buildings, shopping malls and rehabilitation centers.
The FIREFLY is developed by Rio Mobility in San Francisco.

A friend of mine showed me this vid today. It’s awesome what it does for a disabled person to suddenly change from being relatively immobile to very mobile. I hope the inventor makes a gazillion bucks and comes back with another great invention.
That is very cool! Thanks for sharing
That is cool!
What a great invention.
Someone is going to make a fortune on this.
Um... I use a chair just like this. I’d break my neck transferring in/out with this thing.
If you watch the video, you attach the power front wheel after you are sitting. It looks very easy.
So did I. I started re-watching the series this weekend, hoping to wrap up the last few episodes on New Years Eve.
I’m the Vet that left that comment on Amazon. Just to let you know this Firefly is awesome and transferring is easy. It connects to your manual chair with 4 quick connects. To transfer you just unconnected 2 on one side one it folds away from the chair leaving it open to transfer in and out of. I have to tell you how great this is. Especially getting in and out of places because if you’re manual fits though an area this one does to. It’s great!!’
I’m the vet that posted those comments and I have been using this Firefly more and more and it is awesome. It gets up to about 15 mph and to transfer is a breeze because it attaches to your chair with 4 quick disconnects. All you do is disconnect 2 on one side and it folds out leaving it open to transfer out and in it. Great fast chair. Especially if you have had shoulder surgery like me or have problems pushing but you want to continue using your manual chair. Also you don’t need a lift you can disconnect it and fold your chair and put it in your car. Truly awesome invention. Tim
Thank you for the candid comment. I am sending it to a pal on FaceBook who is looking into this for his wife.
