“the gov’t should pass a law charging husbands who do not put down the toilet seat with a criminal offense”........
Whoa, that’s where I draw the line. when a man knows enough to LEFT the seat, a woman should know enough to put it down when needed. The law could work both ways. Case dismissed!
Well when it comes to toilet seats, any man who has lived with women knows the default position is seat down.........
I agree. I was a single mom with a son and a male dog (who drank out of the toilet). Being outnumbered I just left the seat up. It was only for about 5 years and not worth getting upset about. Choose your battles.
On the toilet seat issue, LOGIC dictates that each person leave it where they used it, i.e., up for men, down for women. When you need to use the toilet, adjust it as necessary. Women ought to look before they sit, and put the seat down if needed.
HOWEVER, in the real world, women, for whatever reason, gripe about the seat being left up. So, in my house, as a matter of COURTESY, I raise the seat when I need it, then lower it when done. Takes just a second, and keeps peace in the house.
Or do what they’ve done in parts of Europe and pass a law requiring men to pee sitting down.
“when a man knows enough to LEFT the seat”
And literate men lift it.
I annoy every female in my extended family. I insist on putting the lid down. Got in the habit when the kids were little and realized that it keeps the bathroom cleaner. I’ve also told them that if they accidentally bounce a Qtip in the toilet, they’re fishing it out, not me.
I don’t remember where I read it, but the thought was that men leave the seat up for the exact same reason women leave it down: it’s more convenient.
“when a man knows enough to LEFT the seat”.....
Sorry for the error in typing.....obviously that should read “LIFT”.
My bad!
