An Air Asia plane travelling from Surabaya, Indonesia to Singapore has lost contact with air traffic control, Indonesia's Metro TV reported on Sunday. - See more at:

No that’s a perfectly common Indonesian name, a Muslim no doubt, but not Middle Eastern.
Actually looking at the list the passengers seem to be overwhelmingly made up of Christians judging by the names, indeed I think the plane’s first officer, middle name Emmanuel, was probably a Christian too.
Given the time of year and the destination I suppose it’s no surprise that most of the passengers would be Christians and probably of ethnic Chinese origin.
No real significance can be drawn from the breakdown of the passenger list in any case as it’s almost certainly not an act of terrorism.
I wouldn’t defer to me on matters maritime, the closest I get to the sea is looking at the breakers from the deckchair on my porch, muttering “big waves today” as I shuffle over to the fridge to get another beer.
There are plenty of local fishermen who will take you out into the strait to visit Krakatoa volcano or look at the site of one of the wrecks (the Dutch ship Evertsen which beached on an island in the middle of the Sunda Strait), but, well you know, it’s Indonesia, transportation safety isn’t a priority so I kinda never got around to it.

Base? Conservative base? Republican base? Surely, you're joking. Anybody who's fallen for the left's claim that FOX News is a pro-republican, right-wing news network usually also sees right-wing extremism in Susan Collins.
I value FOX News for it's reporting on the liberal media bias. I value FOX News for reporting news from the center. I value FOX News for giving fair and balanced time for those who tilt to the right.
If I'm looking for News with a conservative tilt I watch NEWSMAX or OAN One America Network. Both are accurate and much more trustworthy than MSNBC which also claims that Fox News is catering to the right wing "extremists".
Caution! After decades of LEFTIST CNN, NBC, cBS, anything new that comes around reporting the news from the center will appear more right-wing than those other networks. Barack Obama makes Bill Clinton look more like Ronald Reagan these days. It's all relative. Of course, I know in reality Bill Clinton is no where near where Reagan was and FoxNews is NO Rush Limbaugh or Mark Levin either. But I do appreciate that they give those on the right a voice.

Very well said. Pretty much sums up my thoughts on FNC.
Maybe is nothing but what have found interesting per the timelines is plane off radar near 6:18 but not reported missing till near 7:28. Anyone else find this as strange?
CNN is having another orgasm. Oddly enough just like in the spring another Ferry accident as well. I forgot where but one caught on fire hours after the Air Asia flight went missing and that Ferry had 500 people on board. So now CNN is 24/7 on this plane.
