The fine-tuning necessary for life to exist on a planet is nothing compared with the fine-tuning required for the universe to exist at all. For example, astrophysicists now know that the values of the four fundamental forcesgravity, the electromagnetic force, and the strong and weak nuclear forceswere determined less than one millionth of a second after the big bang. Alter any one value and the universe could not exist. For instance, if the ratio between the nuclear strong force and the electromagnetic force had been off by the tiniest fraction of the tiniest fractionby even one part in 100,000,000,000,000,000then no stars could have ever formed at all. Feel free to gulp.
Multiply that single parameter by all the other necessary conditions, and the odds against the universe existing are so heart-stoppingly astronomical that the notion that it all just happened defies common sense. It would be like tossing a coin and having it come up heads 10 quintillion times in a row. Really?
Fred Hoyle, the astronomer who coined the term big bang, said that his atheism was greatly shaken at these developments. He later wrote that a common-sense interpretation of the facts suggests that a super-intellect has monkeyed with the physics, as well as with chemistry and biology . . . . The numbers one calculates from the facts seem to me so overwhelming as to put this conclusion almost beyond question.
Theoretical physicist Paul Davies has said that the appearance of design is overwhelming and Oxford professor Dr. John Lennox has said the more we get to know about our universe, the more the hypothesis that there is a Creator . . . gains in credibility as the best explanation of why we are here.

“Let there be light,” and the Word of the Almighty God created His perfect universe. It takes more faith in the chaos of chance resulting in this complex universe than in the power of God creating it in His magnificent order.
God did not MONKEY with any physics! He created the universe from the beginning—so it will WORK, and so it will be a home for LIFE!!!!
Unfortunately, a bloody ATHEIST designed the Wall Street Journal’s paywall—so that few people will be able to read this article! PHOOEY, PHOOEY, and PHOOEY again!!!!
Good article, pretty much says it all.
The way to get though the WSJ paywall is to Google the title of the article and click on the first few links.
To me there are only two possibilities:
God created the visible universe.
The visible universe is one of a vast multitude of such collections in the multiverse.
Those who say “no god and no multiverse” have no logical ground to stand on.
(The multiverse doesn’t necessarily exclude god, but it is the only godless explanation possible.)
God planned my fingerprints at the same time He created... everything else.
ping :)
That used to work like charm but I haven’t been successful with it in a while. This is a good article thanks for sharing it.
Bump
It’s not a multi-verse - but it is a universe with dimensions humans cannot access.
God is outside of time and space - humans are prisoners of time and space - therefore the “size” of everything or the nature of everything (multiverse or not) is not even something we can ask accurately, let alone answer.

If athiests would just step away from their computers, iPhones and iPads every once in awhile and get outdoors and observe nature they would quickly conclude that there is a God. Nature proves it time and time again to me.
I’m glad I’ve made many posts to FR, and other places, that science is slowly catching up to the Bible.
It’s so bizarre now, the assumption that science and God are opposite notions. Perhaps the two greatest scientists ever - Newton and Einstein - both believed in a creator God. Newton in fact wrote more about end times prophecy than he did science...like a million published words.
I believe the big bang theory started out as something called the “cosmic egg”. It was originally an idea proposed by Georges Lemaitre, a Belgian Roman Catholic priest, who was also an astronomer:

Personally, I think the idea of the entire universe starting out as a singular super condensed blob, is absolutely ridiculous.
Why does a multiverse not require s Creator?
I have to laugh at the title, because for years I always said ‘science would prove the Bible before it’s over’.

Maybe the athiests and intellectuals aren’t nearly as bright and open minded as they think they are if they can’t think outside of the box and comprehend a spiritual being that can shift itself between multiple planes of existence that has an intellect so vastly superior to theirs that they cannot possibly conceive it. I would venture further to guess that their non-belief may have something to do with them not wanting to admit that they are grossly stupid compared to God or another lifeform.
Agreed sir......
Well I don’t really mind an atheist using the phrase “monkeyed with physics” if it means he is beginning to see the light. It’s not a term I would ever use - and if God turns out to be black, it’s “racist” too (LOL).
Its just one more step for this guy to realize God CREATED physics and all physical properties.
