Hackers don't take a holiday, it seems. Hours after Microsofts Xbox Live went down Wednesday, Sonys PlayStation Network went down, too.
These are two giant networks that console gamers access to play their games online. It's especially bad timing since a lot of people are probably getting new PlayStations and Xboxes for Christmas.

I bought an Xbox One for the kids for Christmas and I cannot set it up!
It’s a denial of service attack. My son’s are very disappointed
EA online is down. No Battlefield 3 for me. Sad AppyPappy.
I have to settle for Call of Duty
Could be overdrawn systems, happened several years ago because of too much usage. Not necessarily hacked.
Hmm. That explains it. My kids got a bunch of games, and they couldn’t set up FIFA 15 online..
Maybe everyone’s trying to play with their new toys and its overloading the servers.
Norks??
It reminds me of the Christmas when everyone got CB radios(1975). You went from background signal of 1 of 5 on Christmas Eve to 3 of 5 on Christmas Day.
Bought an XBOX ONE on Black Friday..didnt have time to set it up til today, was going to but then I read about XBOX LIVE being down so I guess no point in attempting to set it up or install firmware updates
Are you sure you’re signed in?
Its a Lizard Squad DDOS attack..PSN is down too
Nuke North Korea!!!
F Lizard Squad sideways with a rusty pitchfork. I’m in EQ2 right now and my graph looks like crap because of their baloney.
Still not as bad as the last time they went after Sony, because it’s not directly at any of the pc games, but still a steaming crock.
I set up mine on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Knew this would happen, kids are playing but no dice connecting to XBOX Live.
Seems like the incompetents at FEDGOV can’t prevent a cyber attack in spite of their huge budgets and salaries.
Look for the idiot in charge to get a bonus and for more of these attacks to happen more frequently.
Seems like the only network that is up and running is Nintendo(Since I have a Wii U I checked all is well) XBOX LIVE is slowly slowly coming back up you can read a status update here http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-live-status
Guess there is no point in attempting to turn on my XBOX ONE til this all gets resolved since I think you need some kind of connection to download firmware updates, etc
And Iran, as long as we’re at it....
It wont let me sign in!
I suspect more of a Trinidad/Tobago link.
I wanted to get that done before Christmas as well but my 8 year old would have been all over it. No way to hide it. I have to download the new Call Of Duty game and that will take forever.
