The state should have fought to prevent the satanic display from being erected in the capitol, and unfortunately it took a brave woman being arrested to remove the satanic display.

The display last year included a Festivus pole in tribute to a holiday created on "Seinfeld"...
I've got a lot of problems with you people!

Atheism is definitively the most idiotic ism anyone could possibly embrace.

How could Satanists be upset by this? She was enough in accord with their main tenet: ‘do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law’.
To: balch3
She should have just put a crucifix up in place of the manger scene - that’d bother the Satanists [and the Satanists that deceive people by claiming to be atheist when they are not] more than anything.

Atheist groups last year began taking advantage of the Capitol's free speech zone after a Christian group installed a manger scene showing the birth of Jesus. The display last year included a Festivus pole in tribute to a holiday created on "Seinfeld" that satirizes the commercialism of Christmas and a display by the Church of The Flying Spaghetti Monster, which mocks beliefs that a god created the universe and argues instead that the universe was created by a plate of pasta and meatballs. They can call it "free speech" but it isn't "religious" speech.
The big Church of Satan is a (commercial) atheist organization.
Festivus is a joke from a fictional comedy program.
Flying Spaghetti Monster is a joke meme.
None of the trappings are of a sincerely held religious belief in Satan, "poles", or pasta.
They are deliberate attacks on Christian imagery and tradition. It is bigoted intolerance.
Has anyone been permitted to put severed pigs' heads around Ramadan, EID, or other Islamic displays?

"Americans United for Separation of Church and State " threaten legal action, eh?
So this bunch is NOT what they claim to be?
They are NOT for "separation," They are for Satan.

The display had been erected as a satire by an atheist group to counter a nativity scene, which was taken down the day the Satanic Temple installed theirs. No it wasn't. It was erected as a direct attack on Christianity, God, and His Son.
Look up in the Bible how many times God condemns Israel for putting up Asherah poles and other displays that are "Evil in my sight."
God also praises those Kings of Israel who cut them all down and burned them.
In America today, we have this garbage:
Which looks exactly like to me an Asherah pole. Yes, I have seen the Seinfeld episode - but it is beyond a 1990's comedy sketch that people are focusing their lives around these things 20 years later.
And in Michigan, the Satanists put their evil display up right next to the Nativity scene. Again, it wasn't "satire", but an attack.
