What you describe as "lazy," may actually reflect the total indifference to ordinary folk's interests, by the formula demagogue, whom I describe. The man does not care about the ordinary business of New Yorkers, whether in private business or public employment. This indifference shows up in a lot of those known as "reformers," who seek always to make a point--on some subject on which they do focus;--but regularly neglect some of the daily considerations of normal people.

There are two primary motivations that explain similar demagogue. There are some simply using Egalitarian rhetoric as a path to power. There are others who are so compulsion driven that they actually believe in their stated goals. I have total contempt for their stated goals, because they reflect a war on truth, a war on nature; a war on the realities of God's Creation,

For the role of compulsion, as opposed to reason, in the De Blasios of this world, see Compassion Or Compulsion?

Does New York City have any mechanism for recall? If so, now would probably be a good time to set the process in motion. Whether your interpretation or mine is correct, the continuation of this farce is not in the interest of any normal person.
