Some day NY City will go Detroit and things will change.

While environmental groups are doing a victory dance over New Yorks decision to ban fracking, farmers such as apple grower David Johnson are grieving for dashed hopes and dreams.
Im devastated, Johnson said after Gov. Andrew Cuomos health and environmental commissioners announced Wednesday that they were recommending a fracking ban. I have concerns about how to continue this farm thats been in the family for 150 years.
Energy companies denied the chance to drill in New York can simply raise their rigs in other states. Thats what theyve done since the Marcellus Shale gas drilling boom began in 2008 and New York launched an environmental review that effectively put a moratorium in place. But landowners in the states Southern Tier region who had hoped to reap royalties from gas production dont have that option.
Agreed. We need NYC up through the 87 corridor to be its’ own state and the rest of the state on its’ own.
The Southern Tier is an economic basket case.
All the manufacturing lost there has killed that area.
Cueball couldn’t care less about it. Too many Republicans live there.
New York State is appalachia with New York City attached.
New York City is kept afloat due to the earnings and taxes of a few crony-capitalist Wall Street banks, dealing in debt and Federal Reserve printed money.
I believe that “Secession” of upstate New York from New York City would greatly benefit the folks who live outside the five boroughs.
But Imperial City needs an “empire” to exploit, doesn’t it?
“...the deep disappointment felt by many here at the twin killings...”
Pretty tasteless way to phrase that RE recent events.
But hey, it’s the NYT.
The entire upstate area is politically overpowered by the 8 1/2 million libtards, Gibs-me-dats and illegals in Sanctuary City run by Che Guevera admirer and avowed communist, Mayor Werner Wilhelm.
And with truly insane property taxes - talking $20,000 on a nothing special house on an acre in the middle of nowhere - upstate NY will never recover
The Southern Tier’s economic outlook has been ‘bleak’ for decades.
Gov. Cuomo shout’s out a big F___ Y__ to the citizenry of the region.
Every Southern Tier person who voted Democrat is a moron and deserves this. I feel sorry for the captives.
