As a retired New York cop my heart breaks for my murdered brothers. I'm a veteran of the first years of the Black War of our police having fought as an Urban Combat Soldier in the 13th Division 77th pct sector Charlie David. I know the feeling of anger over a cop's murder having watched 20 cops murdered in the 24 month period from Jan 1970 to Dec 1971. These things said I beg my retired and active brothers and sisters NOT to block Comrade de Blasio's path to these funerals. Please don't make a circus of a terrible day for the families. Any other time or place yes, at the funerals no! Please don't.

I hope the streets are line, up and down and all around, with supporters of the families and the NYPD. No protests, no marching down the streets or taking over bridges, just tons and tons of loyal supporters all line up everywhere! That would make me feel warm inside, and show the world that we do NOT support the sentiment of Obama, Sharpton or DeBlasio!

thugs marching on the funerals
Respectfully, not going to happen. Have you ever seen thousands of NYPD in the same place, at the same time? Regardless of one’s opinion of them, it is a damn impressive sight.
