Sonys current plan for The Interview is to release the controversial comedy for free on Crackle, the streaming service it owns, sources said Sunday.

SUPER, I am going to watch it 10 times to stick it in the eye of a dictator
For how long?
This is probably just a teaser.
Great! We might actually get to see the pot-bellied dictator’s head explode...in real life.
Good, Crackle is included as a service on Apple TV
Also on Chromecast.
Just stick it on the torrents. At least you dont have to pay for the bandwidth, because so many people will try to watch it, that it’s going to look even worse than it likely already does.
Its not there yet.
Sony owns Crackle which uses advertising to pay for the service. And I'm sure a number of advertisers will pull their ads rather than face the 'wrath of hackers', but Sony's blown more than 44 million to promote movies before, this could be one of the biggest promotions ever - the surprising part was that after exploring streaming it on demand through various companies, THOSE companies declined the movie as well.
I can see a theater delaying showing the movie so it doesn't start on Christmas Day, and thus threaten other films showing that day with the extremely unlikely terrorist attack, but a streaming company declining it? Would have thought that Amazon and others would have had the cajones to show it.
No, thanks. I’ll pass. Not even for free. It was a ridiculous concept that only a 12 year old would enjoy.
Great! Now NKOR can nuke everybody that owns a computer . . .heh heh . . . what a maroons!
I’m not sure it is worth “free.” I’m not sure it is worth being paid to watch Seth Rogan.
when will this happen
Crackle can also be accessed via XBox Live and PS3 and 4 I think
The Cackle Network. Isn’t that the one that features Killary 24/7? Will she be preempted for ‘The Interview’?
It is also available online at:
I agree with you on this.
I think this is a rather shrewd marketing ploy on Sony’s part. Crackle is a lesser-known advertising-based free movie/TV streaming service (compared to Hulu, YouTube, etc).
The controversy is a nice way to gin up free publicity and get mindshare for Crackle.
Does this mean that terrorists will attack me in my home while I’m watching it? Just wondering.
Good way to promote their little-known Crackle acquisition
