Cairns: Eight children found dead at property (Australia)

EIGHT children have been stabbed to death at a house in north Queensland. The Queenlsand Police Service have released a statement regarding the incident.

Police were called to the Murray Street residence in Manoora around 11.20am following reports of a woman with serious injuries.

During an examination of the residence police located the bodies of the children, all aged between 18 months and 15 years.

The woman, believed to be aged in her 30s, is receiving treatment for her injuries and is currently assisting police with their investigations.

Note - just to be clear, there is currently no information I have seen to link this to any other event in Australia this week. As horrible as it is in its own right.

A police source has told The Australian the woman has stabbed the children and then herself in a suicide attempt, leaving her unconscious and in hospital.

Does she have a mental disorder, or had some type of incident indicating instability? What about the father of the children?

Guessing it’s the mother who did this. Never could understand how parents can do such to their children.

I worked in a hospital ER for years and dealt with many people with serious mental disorders.Some of these orders are just beyond description.

Yes, but one would think that a 15-yr-old would fight back or escape the melee…. or perhaps that’s the kid who killed the younger ones.
