Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, has surveyed what he calls “the Obama-Clinton foreign policy,” and he does not like what he sees.
Speaking Wednesday at The Heritage Foundation, Cruz condemned current policy as “appeasement and moral equivalency.”
Said Cruz: “One of the sad legacies of the last six years” is that “our friends no longer trust us and our enemies no longer fear us,” and that the United States risks going from “the leader of the free world to a dutiful and obedient member of the international community.”
Cruz criticized former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s remarks that we should “respect” and “empathize” with our enemies.
“What our foreign policy needs isn’t empathy,” said Cruz. “We need clarity, force and resolve. When America recedes from the world, the world is more dangerous.”
Cruz denounced the idea that providing “lethal aid” to Ukraine would “provoke” Russian leader Vladimir Putin, saying Putin was “already provoked.”
“Weakness is provocative,” said Cruz.
Cruz said Putin’s “petro-dictatorship” is weakened by falling oil and gas prices. He said his colleague, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., refers to Russia as “a gas station with a country attached.”
Cruz called Iran the “single greatest threat to our national security.”
“If a nation calls you ‘the great satan,’ it ain’t good,” said Cruz. “Cutting a deal with Iran would be the Obamacare of [the president’s] second term.”
In a humorous moment, Cruz mispronounced former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s name and joked that “it would be easier if his name was Smith.”
Cruz said Israel is “in a tough neighborhood” and deserves to be “vigorously and robustly” supported by the United States.
He called the “moral equivalency embraced by the administration” between Israel and its enemies a “complete and stunning indictment of the Obama-Clinton foreign policy.”
“Truly, we have gone with Alice through the looking glass,” said Cruz.
In a question-and-answer session after his remarks, Cruz was asked about the CIA torture report recently released by Senate Democrats.
Cruz said that “torture is wrong—period, unambiguously.”
He then called the report “partisan” and a “biased view of what occurred.” He warned that the risk of retaliation is real.
“In a time when the world is on fire, of course you want to harken back to your predecessor,” Cruz said. “Everything, everything, everything is George W. Bush’s fault. Enough already.”
Cruz concluded that in two years, he hopes “the new occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue” is a “very different president who can be trusted by friend and foe alike.”
Where, o where is another Ronald Reagan for the U.S.A.?
Countless US assets---our embassies, ships and military bases are bombed----our military and diplo-personnel savaged, killed, maimed and tortured by fanatics in Mideast hellholes---and invariably the US gets the blame: "We weren't stern enough, we weren't strong enough"---and my personal favorite----"we didn't give them enough money," etc etc etc.
The facts are these: Obama entertained the Muslim Brotherhood in the WH---and he gave the Muslim Brotherhood $2 billion tax dollars to finance its anti-American activities. It's entirely conceivable that the Mideast killings of Americans is being financed w/our tax dollars---thanks to the idiot in the WH. He and the Chicago crime bosses in the WH should be charged w/ un-American activities.
US TAX DOLLARS FINANCE TERRORISM ---Obama's not merely "not fighting terrorists"---he's financing them and inviting them into our communities, forcing taxpayers to subsidize their evil deeds. Obama used the federal piggy bank to finance jihad.:

The Obama administration has issued new exemptions to a law that bars certain asylum-seekers and refugees who provided “limited material support” to terrorists who are believed to pose no threat from the U.S.
The Department of Homeland Security and the State Department published the new exemptions Wednesday in the Federal Register to narrow a ban in the Immigration and Nationality Act excluding refugees and asylum seekers who had provided limited material support, no matter how minor, to terrorists.
“These exemptions cover five kinds of limited material support that have adversely and unfairly affected refugees and asylum seekers with no tangible connection to terrorism: material support that was insignificant in amount or provided incidentally in the course of everyday social, commercial, family or humanitarian interactions, or under significant pressure,” a DHS official explained to The Daily Caller.
Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson and Secretary of State John Kerry signed the exemptions. DHS contends that the law change is “commonsense” and that immigration procedures will remain the same in other respects. (Excerpt) Read more at dailycaller.com ...

‘Weakness Is Provocative’
It was Rumsfeld that first said that.
Don’t count on it. If we get through the next two years, it will be as a newly-minted-Democrat-majority-forever country, so it will not last long after those two years.
Far worse: Traitors in the White House, the Congress, and the Supreme Court are provocative.
Is that correct usage of the word Provocative? Shouldn’t it be a provocation?
Like: “weakness is a provocation?
They read the same to me.
Though your version does avoid some of the suggestive connotations of "provocative".
