Seven states joined Texas's lawsuit challenging President Obama's executive amnesty plan this week, brining the total number of states on the suit to 24.
"More than 20 states have joined our challenge against the presidents unilateral executive action to bypass Congress and rewrite immigration laws," Texas Attorney General and governor-elect Greg Abbott said in a release. "The presidents proposed executive decree violates the U.S. Constitution and federal law, circumvents the will of the American people and is an affront to the families and individuals who follow our laws to legally immigrate to the United States.
The list of states now suing Obama over his unilateral amnesty now includes: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, South Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
Plaintiffs received a huge boost to their cause Monday when the same judge who once called Obama's immigration policy a "criminal conspiracy" was assigned to hear the case. And last week, Abbott filed a motion for a preliminary injunction which could stop the amnesty before legal documents are scheduled to be handed out this June.
CA still conspicuous by its absence.
I cannot remember this many states banding together to fight the White House. And this is twice - Obamacare, now Administrative Amnesty.
And yet, Barry and Valerie just don’t give a dung.
I wish my State New Mexico would join the suit.
Forget CA...it’ll never happen as long as the RATS control the state and the demographic shift perpetrated by the RATS almost certainly guarantees it won’t happen anytime in the near or distant future.
I wished my State Tennessee would also join the suit
Give it time - I was surprised that Ohio (my state) joined, but, am glad they did.
34 and it is repealed by the states.
Can they also sue John Boehner?
After reading your post, I am still not too sure what you think of Christie. It seems like you are sitting on the fence about what you think about the guy ...</s> Lol.
I also wish that Tennessee would join this suit.
However with our “leaders” we will be DEAD LAST to join.
need 14 more states.
With 38 states, the President can be overruled.
Hell, with 38 states, he can be fired, not impeached and removed, but FIRED.
With 38 states, congress can be dissolved, even the Supreme court.
38 states is the Ultimate power in this country, and D.C becomes a wasteland.
Now this is the way to go after amnesty. I love what Abbott is doing. I would like to see this administration die by a thousand cuts, in the courts, in bills send to Obama, by investigations. 9 Year, I know you disagree with me on some strategies, but I think we can agree on the states leading the charge...
Nevada needs to be on this list! Bet Reid is the reason we’re not!
LOL!
With 38 states, congress can be dissolved, even the Supreme court.
Where, perchance, did you find this?
An Article V Convention to consider amendments to the Constitution gets more likely with every federal outrage.
The number of states on board is sure to soon tip the scales at +25. The suit carries more weight if the majority of States joins the fight!
Yes, Michigan joined. Michigan is a border state - two legal points of entry Detroit, MI - Windsor, ON and Sault Ste marie, MI and Sault Ste Marie, ON. Not only that there should be more states joining this travesty of an executive action. where is the executive order.
