“Enough is enough,” said Ernie Sanchez, assistant chief of the Golden Gate Division. “The crowds have become larger, more hostile and more aggressive, and the public can expect that we will use whatever force necessary to clear the roadway and keep people safe.”
Highway Patrol officers arrested 223 people Monday night for blocking the roadway, assaulting a peace officer and other offenses stemming from the protest. Those arrested face bails of up to $50,000, and many remain in custody, Sanchez said.

Somehow the protesters have been brainwashed to think that blocking traffic is a protected right. Time to reinforce where their rights end.

The CHP has its problems like any other major police agency in any state...however, my encounters with the CHP have been nothing but positive.
Interesting that when the CHP comes out and says they’re going to start cracking down instead of letting these scum run amok, they’re considered “looney”. I thought we conservatives were “law and order” types?
Perhaps it would be more to your liking if the CHP were to take the Fergidishu PD’s approach?

The demonstrators are mistaking apathy for assent. Most of us think they are stupid, but so long as they are burning down their own towns, I figure if the town doesn’t care enough to rise up and stop them, I can just ignore it.
But block one of my roads while I’m on it, and I’m going to care. And a lot of drivers are going to care. And if I get a chance, I’m going to rally those drivers, we are going to get out of our cars, and fix the problem.
You want a riot? Rioting is easy, anybody can do it, it takes no skill. Heck, we’ll “join” your riot, we know how to protest, we watched the video. We’ll light cars on fire — starting with the cars you brought to block our road. We’ll turn them over as well, and roll them into the ditch. We’ll march through your protest, and clear a path to free us from the oppression of being held against our will.
We’ll use our power as citizens to free ourselves from your hostage-taking, if the police won’t come arrest you for kidnapping and false imprisonment, we’ll stop you from your crimes against us.
I will NOT sit idling in my car while a bunch of whining no-nothings think they have a right to hold me there.
