you got it almost right “It’s all about personal rights period.”
It’s really about peoples’ desire to have rights without responsibility; and perceived rights at that. Nobody seems to remember that their rights end and the tip of everyone else’s nose. No one has an inherent right to do anything that harms me, no matter how cathartic it feels to them.
No one has a right to force their beliefs on me, no matter the direction of the PC political winds/whatever.
In the end, right now it is all about personal rights without personal responsibility or self control...
