Yes... tonight. LA is unique for holding state elections on Saturday.

Tonight decides the fate of incumbent US Democratic Senator Mary Landrieu and two outstanding congressional districts in the state that were too close to call in November.

The election is on a Saturday?

Yup. The Louisiana primary is on election day, the runoff election is held the first Saturday in December.

(Must be the influence of those zany French Republicans, again!)

The election is on a Saturday?

Yes. But the usual for Louisiana. The runoff is generally on a Saturday, IIRC.

dear goldstate,

I have lived in LA for a few years now, and yes, they have elections on Saturdays. they have elections throughout the year, as well as referendums, votes on school taxes and school board positions, and all sorts of other assenine stuff!

And yes, there are more than likely run-offs on those things, too.
