Now this is just pathetic.
Some of you turned Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC)87% into the hero of the day because of his Benghazi investigation. He could do no wrong. What happens when you build a cult of personalty around any politician is then they can go BOHICA on you.
Bend over America. Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC)87% is now on record admitting hes going to help shove President Obamas amnesty plan right where you dont want it.
(SNIP)
So, Hemmer asked Gowdy who hed stop the President. Gowdys answer? He wants to let Sen. John McCain (R-AZ)Heritage ActionScorecardSen. John McCain52%Senate Republican Average64%See Full Scorecard52% handle it by tying up unrelated Presidential nominations in the Senate.

“You seem to think some should have ‘passed’ that didn’t get through the gauntlet.”
And you seem to have a chip on your shoulder. There is no one on this site who doesn’t think that someone should have passed who didn’t get through the gauntlet.
“Why don’t you list some of them?”
Why don’t you answer the question with a name, if you know one? It wasn’t rhetorical. I don’t know of one.

Way to many unknowns to trash Gowdy.
Let's wait and see how it turns out.
There are few, if any, better Republicans in Congress.
If you don't agree then make a list of them. It will be a short list.
/johnny
Cruz seems to have made it through, so far, except for a few whack-jobs on FR. Walker is also doing a credible job.
/johnny
The GOP leadership has decided not to force a Presidential veto and a government shutdown. I don’t agree with that strategy and I’m sure you don’t either but I’m not going to shoot Gowdy over that issue.
This guy?
Conservatives bite the bullet on that, and get rid of the weak sisters that cave. They will be self-identifying.

“Life is tough here on FR for liberals. Especially republican liberals.”
As it should be. It’s also tough on non-liberals...or rather, everyone is too liberal by someone’s definition (like the whack-jobs who rag on Cruz).
The only think I’d expect McCain to do is surrender to the opposition. I seriously question the motives and/or sanity off anyone who expects a different outcome.
Don't expect a lot of playing nice in the future. Put up or shut up.
And I ignore the whack jobs that don't like Cruz or Gowdy or whoever because of who he is. Results matter. Risks taken (not rhetoric) matter.

And it ain't conservative.

He has FOUGHT a good fight, and he continues to do so. If Trey Goudy isn't any good, we don't have much. So I am rooting for him. He is the fly in their ointment, the monkey in their wrench. That's how I see it.
You seem to be happy with rhetoric.
Talk is cheap.

...and John McCain’s method is to adopt Obama’s policy.
Whew!
He gives great sound bite.
You can be squishy or support amnesty lite but for Gowdy to think Luis Gutierrez is a good human being is a little much. Luis is POS.
Gowdy and Gutierrez said they also share an interest in justice.
“What I think Trey has is a fundamental sense of fairness,” Gutierrez said. “Bigotry and hate are an affront to his core values. Once you can set that aside, vis-a-vis immigration, you can devise a world of justice and fairness. It’s clear he has a set of values.”
Gowdy said he once wrote a note to Gutierrez that said, “If I ever needed an advocate, a passionate advocate, I would want somebody like you.”
“If you listen to Luis, he sounds like a prosecutor, talking about respect for the rule of law and how to balance the compassion with the respect for the rule of law,” Gowdy said.
So, is Gowdy more than a talkin’ clone of Issa?
