I’d love an amendment which required all Federal legislation to be no more than 20 pages long. If you go longer, you’re probably engaging in social engineering, not actual law-making. If states want to do complex pieces, that’s their business, but at the Federal level, things should be pretty simple. Per the Constitution, the Feds don’t have that much authority, so keep it short, keep it simple, keep it clear.

As long as we’re dreaming, hows about a “pass a law, repeal a law” requirement?

Congress must repeal an old law for every new law it passes!

There should be a hard limit to the total number of words in law. Once you hit the limit, you need to remove existing laws.
