When the guy says he can’t breath over and over again, he maybe should of thought of that before telling the police not to touch him during the course of their duties.

I’m not terribly fond of the cops but I don’t think there has ever been anyone’s 31st arrest without some complaining.

I think that is her with her back turned and hands on her hips. In another part of the video, you can see she has stripes on her sleeves. This makes her the ranking officer on the scene and responsible for the actions of the other officers.

Where is the proof of criminal intent. They didn’t kill him purposely (accidental, yes).

That’s okay, I will go with the jurors.

So, “don’t touch me” is justification for excessive force and a multiple officer takedown with neck holds? Is that what you’re trying to say? That justifies his death? I’m surprised one of them didn’t try a throwdown.

What rights were taken away from Garner?

Due Process.

If you check civil law, intent does not necessarily have to be the prime component. Negligence, wrongful actions, all manner of things that could cause harm and damage. THEY did that. I didn’t yell out CRIMINAL! I said I’d award extremely huge damages against them.

The coroner found no damage to the trachea or bones in the neck. The grand jury didn’t indict. I’d say my analysis is accurate. Your expletive can’t compare.

He told the officers that he was not putting up with their s- any longer. They told him he was not going to be arrested, to listen. He told them that he wasn’t moving. He had the power to go in and let his attorney file a complaint on the NYPD. He rolled the dice and this time it went terribly wrong. Sorry for his death but he should had not resisted.

Appropriate or not for the hold and swarming the petty criminal is probably decided by what happened before the choke hold. Unfortunately, every video I have seen seems to skip over the critical transition from talking with a clearly agitated big guy to taking him down with an arm around his neck. Since the video was released to make the police look bad, I’m wondering why the video omits that portion of the events.

If Eric Garner attempted to resist or attack a cop, then I’m all for taking him down. If the cops just wanted to work off a little aggression, then it was a criminal act. In the absence of video evidence (when video before and after are both available), I’d have to accept police testimony on their reasons for taking him down and accept that this was an unfortunate but not illegal event. That makes it far different from Michael Brown, where I join many innocent victims in being glad the thug is dead.

Of course, she’s a victim too.

She’ll be on early retirement for disability after having to view such savagery.

Nah, I’m saying that the mans health was poor. I could have easily withstood the whopping he asked for.

That is a headlock, not a choke hold. No where near what a choke hold looks like.

So you say a trachea can’t be closed off and show no damage? A major blood vessel to the brain can’t be pinched off with the same result? If so, then that’s fine, but he didn’t die because of standing up.

Well, I sincerely hope neither of you two ever get put in that particular situation.

when he says over and over, “I can’t breathe”

How can you speak over and over if your air is cut off? Of coarse you could be lying.

Sorry for his death but he should had not resisted.

Ideally, no one should resist, of course.

But let's not pretend the police did not have options other than killing him.

I’m unlikely to do anything that would put me at risk of going to prison, including being a white cop.

Only an idiot fights with police. I am many things, but no idiot. So, no, you won’t see me resisting arrest.

I bet someone could restrict your breathing just enough to cause you distress and yet you’d still be able to yell out.

What is several minutes of decreased oxygen to your brain and body? No problem? Okay.....
