According to Nielsen, FOX News Channels Special Report with Bret Baier surpassed ABCs World News Tonight with David Muir in five key markets across the country in household viewers including Baltimore, Jacksonville, Ft. Myers, Providence and St. Louis. As a cable news program, this is quite an impressive feat for Special Report, as its rival World News Tonight is a broadcast program.
With more than a double-digit advantage over Muir, Special Report easily beats World News Tonight. Baier also outperforms the broadcast program CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley in both Atlanta and Austin in household viewers.
In cable news, Baier ranks #1 in the 6PM/ET hour, beating CNN, MSNBC, and HLN combined in both demo and total viewers. Averaging more nearly 2.5 million in total viewers, Special Reports ranks #3 with P2+ only behind primetime shows The OReilly Factor and The Kelly File.
Special Report with Bret Baier will continue its new series on Thursday with The Contenders 2016. The series profiles nearly two dozens potential presidential candidates and will examine a broad range of possible contenders including familiar faces like former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Governor Scott Walker, along with potential nominees like Senators Rand Paul and Elizabeth Warren. This Thursdays segment will include Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal as well.
Keep up the good work, Bret!
Excellent!
Providence, Rhode Island, folks! Fox is winning in RHODE FREAKING ISLAND.
I didn’t even know the old networks still had news...
wow haven’t seen an old news type program in at least 10-15 years
Its not appropriate to characterize the NBC nightly broadcast as news or journalism. It is a repetitive left wing propaganda exercise. The CBS and ABC broadcasts are not much better. They still try to be subtle with their inherent bias.
Very good—though I never watch network news——I get my news here on FR—LOL!
Is this why Krauthammer is on his “Republicans shouldn’t fight with the President” jag? Is is a matter of getting high ratings in Austin, the blue armpit of Texas?
Last night was the last night for Wendell Goiler the Fox White House Reporter. He retired.
It blew my mind to realize that he was one of the original staff but was now going to retire. He has been everywhere following Presidents.
My favorite memory was when he covered W in Texas. He took his motorcycle and would appear riding the big iron
>> I didnt even know the old networks still had news...
They don’t. They have State Propaganda programs now. (They still call them “news” though.)
>> I get my news here on FR
+1
My viewing habits dont usually even take me down to where the old network channels are.
I am usually over 200 channels above that at least. Heck there are over 100 channels of just pay per view movies between those channels and where I usually hang out on the list.
As much crap as FOXNEWS takes here on FR, it’s still a reliable source for news that hasn’t been twisted to fit an agenda.
I like to watch video of old newscasts just to be reminded of how far it has fallen.
If someone just went back to the old formulas, they would be kings in the ratings.
wow.. I didn’t know he was near old enough to retire! (the older I get... the less old others older than me seem :) )
But....... that is precisely what many here want. They demand Fox to twist the focus toward their own very narrow agendas.
When that never happens, they bitch and moan
ain’t that the truth : )
>> My viewing habits dont usually even take me down to where the old network channels are... I am usually over 200 channels above that at least.
heh... I’ve gone the exact opposite route. There’s not even a teevee SIGNAL coming into the Tick mansion right now.
>> the older I get... the less old others older than me seem :)
...and the younger the cops seem. Darryl Wilson looks like he just got out of high school.
I can't stand Beckle or Juan Williams, but them being in the FOXNEWS mix just shows how intellectually vacant liberal ideas are.
Rupert Murdoch is a genius.
Special Report in my opinion is the best news program on TV. And has been since it’s inception with Brit Hume.
