The coroner did conclude it was a homicide and the police officer who choked him should have had to face a jury.
Over untaxed loosies!
Rightly or wrongly, I can see DOJ getting involved in this in regard to a civil rights charge.
Meh
Just curious ... Did you watch the video? This guy would still be alive if he had simply obeyed the law. Don’t like the stupid NY laws? Then change them. The officers were trying simply to arrest this guy. He resisted. IF you actually watched the video then you might have noticed how much bigger he was than any of the officers. There was NO choke hold that could be seen at all
“Homicide” doesn’t necessarily mean “crime.” Correct me if I’m wrong.
I knew this would happen. The emphasis on the "choke hold" was bogus and a perfect excuse for the D.A. to protect a L.E. brother and leave the onus on the jurors. Garner died because he was dog piled by a pack of thugs. And he easily could have been saved. They should all have been charged with something. Instead, everybody walks.
I agree with you so maybe I can take some of the flames aimed at you.
When there are that many cops simply point out to the man that he’s going to be arrested and he can do it the hard way or the easy way. But truthfully, I think it was over reacting for selling loose cigarettes.
Whether or not it was a choke hold or not is irrelevant. The man was saying “I can’t breath.” Hell, when he can’t breath, turn him loose.
The same with the kid shot in Ohio. It seems the cop that killed the kid had left another police department because he was considered unstable. Cleveland should pay out the nose for this.
Why do you bring up “pre-existing” health conditions? Are NY police now supposed to be imbued with supernatural powers of omniscience regarding every individual’s health history?
It’s the same with the “unarmed” nonsense. That status cannot be ultimately determined until AFTER the fact. All officers have to go on is aggressive, assaultive behavior exhibited by the perp.
