Chris Rock tells white people to own the actions of their ancestors

Chris Rock explained in a lengthy interview Sunday that he believes part of healing racial relations in America is by white people “owning” the actions of their ancestors.

The black comedian told New York magazine’s Frank Rich that racial progress in America is “nonsense” and that the only thing that’s changed is white people aren’t as crazy as they used to be.

There's an entire generation of educated adults today having absolutely no idea the Irish were bought and sold as slaves during America's colonial period. I suspect Chris Rock is part of that generation. I would wager a bet too that he has no idea black slave owners even existed during colonial America as well. He has half of an education, and that is a pity. More's the pity he would hold contemporary white people responsible for a history that many white ancestors bled, suffered, and died to amend. That is horrifically racist of him.

Mine, too. Genealogy is a hobby an I did not find one ancestor who was rich enough to own slaves. Ancestors have been here since the 1600’s. They worked from sun-up to sundown to put enough food on the table. I did have 2 great grandfathers who fought for the South. One made shoes for the soldiers since he was not healthy enough to fight. I am proud of all of them. They did what they thought was right at the time. I have a copy of the enlistment paper for one of them.
