For all those who think that officer Darren Wilson used excessive force when defending himself against Michael Brown, let the tragic death of officer David W. Smith be a lesson to you.
Smith, an officer with the Johnson City, N.Y., Police Department, was fatally shot by a disturbed man who attacked him in his car and took away his gun, ending a law enforcement career of over 18 years.
Smith was attacked after he responded to a disturbance call at a hospital at about 7 a.m. on March 31 of this year.
After arriving at work that morning, one employee began arguing with others before finally assaulting one of them. Smith was dispatched to the hospital and the employee in question ran out of the building waving his arms.
Smith hadnt even gotten out of his police car when he was attacked by the employee, who managed to take the officers gun and shoot the officer three times where he sat.
Fortunately, but too late for Smith, a second officer arrived and exchanged fire with the subject, who was killed, according to Officer Down Memorial Page.
Smith was survived by his wife and young son.
Smiths story is a perfect example of why Wilson not only pursued Brown after they struggled in his car on Aug. 9, but shot him when he turned back to charge him.
Had it not been for Wilsons heroic actions on that day, he could very well have suffered the same fate as police officer David W. Smith, who died at the hands of a criminal while protecting and serving his community.
I wonder what type of holster the officer had or whether he had removed the gun from the holster. I know it would be pretty difficult for a bad guy to get a cops gun out of a type 3 saftey holster, especially reaching into a car. I think there are two buttons you have to depress on a type 3 holster to remove the gun which are easy to do if you are wearing the holster but very difficult for anyone else.
I don't see where it makes a bit of difference where the media is concerned on stories about out of control urban negroes.
It may have been an older holster.
Well see.. Gun control would have solved that problem right away .. oh wait.
Sorry if this insults but why do you even know them? Unless they were family, I`d un-know anyone who thought that way.
That is a fair question
Sometimes you have to interact with idiots in business
and I learned long ago not to argue with idiots.
I let them rant.
Presstitutes don’t understand-
EVERY physical altercation a cop has is a potential GUNFIGHT (the officer brought the gun)
Same goes to CCH carriers.
Guess I`m lucky but I am in a blue collar occupation and every white person I know says the cop was justified, and while I`m not euro-Caucasian but I completely agree. That ‘gentle giant’ crap is pure bullsh!t of the smelliest order. And as for the so called ‘peaceful protesters’, delusional cesspit-swill isn`t anywhere near close enough a descriptive.
