The National Enquirer, still basking in the glow of its takedown of philandering John Edwards, a story well known to many in the media but ignored because the man was, after all, the Democrats’ pick for veep and a darling of the left, is reporting that Hillary Clinton may be heading to rehab for a drinking problem.
A “boozed-up” Hillary Clinton suffered a secret collapse during a recent vacation – and now worried advisers want her to do a secret stint in rehab before her White House run!
Sources close to the former FirstLady and ex-Secretary of State revealed the hush-hush “Rehab Before White House” plan to The National ENQUIRER in advance of Hillary’s formal announcement to be a 2016 presidential candidate, touted for early next year.
A high-level insider told The ENQUIRER: “Hillary’s social drinking has gone out of control!
The first problem is the anonymous sourcing. The second problem is that this is just someone’s idea that Hillary should go, not that she will go. This is very thin gruel indeed, even if true.

Completely out of touch with that sort of thing. The occasional sip of a decent Merlot, or a wee drop of Single Malt Scotch with one ice cube is it for me. Recently was given a little sip of some old “Cabin Still” Bourbon. That wasn’t bad, either.

We used to have a freeper who thought exactly that.
He had lived across the hall from the Clintons when they were unknowns living in DC. On one memorable occasion there was a loud thud at his door and he opened it to find a naked Hillary vomiting in the hall. He could hear Bill inside their apartment with some other woman. He knew the Clintons as loud partiers and Hillary as a heavy drinker. His guess is that she still likes the bottle.
I really don’t care for the woman. Never have. Never will.
But I am acquainted with alcoholism thru a number of family members and I know how bad it can be - both for the alcoholic and those close to that person.
I wish her well in her treatment. I hope she makes a complete recovery and stays sober for years and years to come.
I have many memories of the years I spent working in a big city ER.One of the funniest was an old street drunk who was brought to us after a "syncopal episode" (aka: fainted).Of course he was,in fact,drunk out of his mind.While relieving him of his valuables (standard procedure in an ER) the secretary found an empty bottle of cheap wine in his pocket.On the label the maker boasted that the grapes for their product were grown in Ohio!

I’ll take any national enq. story with a grain of salt. That said, HC is certainly not a very “functional alcoholic!” Of course, she isn’t very “functional” sober either....
