The whole thing is really, really simple.

Many, many things happen every day in this huge country, including many crimes and killings.

To focus on one more than others, you have to believe it is significant for some reason.

When people find significance in an event, it is usually because it ties in with and supports their pre-existing worldview. This is a human response, not a liberal response. This is where the “too good to factcheck” stuff comes from. I’ve fallen victim to it myself.

White on white, black on white and black on black crimes don’t support the narrative of the progressive worldview in which oppression of people of color by pale penis people is the organizing principle.

The shooting of Michael Brown, quite regardless of the facts of the case, was a godsend to them. It allowed them to stop fabricating oppression for a while and focus on a real event, however greatly they had to distort what actually happened.
