Until a real smashing of heads and maybe even body bags this criminal activity will not stop. Sorry, but these so called rioters are terrorists and until law enforcement does it’s real job it will get worst. Maybe it is time for the citizens to show the law how to do it.

No guns in the sporting goods departments in San Francisco if that’s what you mean.
And for that matter there isn’t a sorting goods store worth the name at all within a couple of miles of Union square.

I am really sick of this crap. We have no leadership in America. Instead we have a damn thug in the White House encouraging this.

Thing is, when are men and women in this country going to put a damn stop to this? Obviously waiting around for a decent human being in Government to step up and put this crap to rest, is not forthcoming.

So how long do we all suffer this?

Most of the white liberal idiots don’t give a flip about Michael Brown. They just want to protest.

I know this white judge and her husband that go out TO BE SEEN at every black event there is. If a tornado were to strike 10 poor white communities and one black community, they will show up to help at the black community.

They yell “we shall overcome” louder than any blacks at any of their events/protests — especially if the TV cameras are near. She has to be elected and his job is on the taxpayer’s dime too. They live in a very nice safe white neighborhood.

Then, conversely, since the police enforce the law, we’re under no obligation to obey the police.

The Union Square Macy’s ‘sporting’ goods department consists of trendy clothes for the urban metrosexual.

This is so SF....the rent a mob of thugs decides to go and destroy things. I remember one Christmas when my daughter was about 10 (could have been 9 or 11.....I lose track of that these days) and the rent a thugs were on the prowl. She and I strode with confidence, did our stops at the shops we wanted to see, and ignored them entirely ( as did the police). The folks cowering in Macy’s (as they did in this protest) were harassed by these thugs because they showed fear.

My daughter at first was scared and I calmed her by saying we have business we need to take care of, ignore those fools. I must admit these days that attitude could get me killed or beaten nearly to death. So I am not necessarily condemning the sheep of SF I just know I handled it differently

Or a shot put, discus, javelin, or bowling ball. Sometimes you have to get creative.

Remember that it’s San Fran. The ‘men’ can’t man up because they’re too busy dressin’ like women.

"Then, conversely, since the police enforce the law, we’re under no obligation to obey the police."

My theory has long been law enforcement opts to enforce laws primarily against law-abiding people because it is so convenient and easy.
Police would be well-advised to hone skills to determine which folks are "good guys" and whom are "bad guys" very rapidly.
Police need to partner with the genuinely good people in a hurry right now.
Knock it off with ticketing otherwise wonderful people for 4 mph over the speed limit. Or a vehicle registration 3 days overdue. That kind of nonsense is just silly.

They want to relive the glory days of fifty years ago. Those days are gone. It's like the Irish protesting anti-Irish or anti-Catholic laws from the 1800s. Those days are also gone.

A lot of the young Irish males became criminals when they first came over and lived in slums in the big cities. There was strong anti-Irish and anti-Catholic feelings among the Protestant population. Irish Catholics were discriminated against.

But the local law enforcement let it be known that their criminality wasn't going to be tolerated. Then the Irish became Americans and assimilated with the rest of the country. Time for black Americans to do the same. There are no laws holding them back.

I agree entirely. The police aren't stupid. They go after complaint people(read ‘’white people’’) to enforce basically what amounts to ‘’nuisance laws''. Often with empty shows of physical power. When have you ever heard of cops pulling a DWI check-point in a minority neighborhood? They wouldn't dare because they know it would start a riot.

Then the Irish became Americans and assimilated with the rest of the country. Time for black Americans to do the same.

Good synopsis of the situation. Funny thing is, lots of those Irish males became cops in SF, and that tamed the criminality in the community. Large parts of San Francisco were Irish inhabited. Blacks didn't come until WWII and the need for workers in the shipyards. Over the last 50 years the blacks largely departed for the suburbs. Same is true for many Irish. Problem is, while the Irish have totally assimilated, lots of blacks still self-segregate in those suburb communities.

SF is a commuter city. Millions commute in to work there, as well as to shop there. And most of those protestors commute in to protest there. If one to were to look at arrest records, the vast majority live out of town, and few are black. Those protestors can't afford the goods in the stores they're vandalizing, and are despised by the residents, it's an economic disparity problem; they protest anything to vent anger over their life situation. Still a lot of Irish cops, in the old days they would have busted heads with their billy clubs but now their hands are tied by PC rules of engagement. Fubar.

You would find better weapons in the Kitchen section than sporting goods in S.F.

“Stay the course” is the more political way of saying, “Burn this ____ down!”

Peaceful protest does not mean lock down transportation, bash windows, burn businesses, loot or scare children. We’ve had 4 months of this, enough already. The military, the National Guard and police need to put a stop to it. And start at the top.
