After his appeals largely were disregarded Monday night, President Obama on Tuesday again pleaded for calm and restraint in Ferguson, Mo., and across the country but this time he also had a warning for those who have resorted to violence, saying looters and anyone else who breaks the law should be prosecuted.
There are productive ways of responding and expressing those frustrations and there are destructive ways of responding. Burning buildings, torching cars, destroying property, putting people at risk thats destructive and theres no excuse for it, the president said during a speech in Chicago. Those are criminal acts, and people should be prosecuted if they engage in criminal acts. Mr. Obama repeated many of the points he made Monday evening in a White House speech delivered just hours after a Ferguson grand jury decided there should be no charges brought against police officer Darren Wilson in connection with the August shooting death of teenager Michael Brown.
The president again said there are very real problems between some law enforcement agencies and minority groups, with distrust having been built up over decades.
He said he and Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. will work with civil rights and religious leaders, along with local, county and state officials, to come up with solutions, including making sure police departments are racially representative of the communities they serve.

Sounds like the Lt. Gov. is after Nixon’s job - I’d love to be a fly on the wall at that State House.
Try to identify them or find them.
“It was a muscular guy or a chunky female wearing leather gloves and a Guy Fawkes mask and carrying a baseball bat.”
That narrows it down.
Obama says Ferguson looters and lawbreakers should be prosecuted until he says they shouldn’t
The private sector has shed many of the tokens it took on in the 1990s; there is hope there. The government at this point is the only place true tokens can even “play work” anymore.
“...saying looters and anyone else who breaks the law should be prosecuted.”
But you know how busy Eric the Corrupt is these days. Last pay offs, shredding documents, etc. Eric just doesn’t have the time to charge these petty terrorists.
But he won’t deport them to prison.
“.....anyone else who breaks the law should be prosecuted.”
I agree, Obama, and in a sane world, you would already be doing time.
The government pulled the police in Egypt and let the protests run wild, so people would beg them back.
Smells similar here.
Looters and lawbreakers have to be caught by cops before they can be prosecuted, and that means cops may need to defend themselves, and cops will have to profile.
Smsh... What is it with people they do not understand about affirmative action being the culprit and not the solution: blacks taking care of blacks is a disaster at this point.
LOL
Did he say ‘period’ after it?
I’m still waiting for Barry to be prosecuted for even one of at least dozens of crimes.
