Senator Chuck Schumer of New York said Tuesday that he and his fellow Democrats made a mistake in pursuing health care legislation that eventually became Obamacare. Bloomberg Politics's Kathleen Hunter has the story:
“Unfortunately, Democrats blew the opportunity the American people gave them” in electing Obama and a Democratic Congress in 2008 amid a national recession, Schumer of New York said in a speech in Washington. “We took their mandate and put all our focus on the wrong problem -- health care reform.”
Democrats should have addressed issues aiding the middle class to build confidence among voters before turning to the health-care system overhaul, Schumer said. He spoke at the National Press Club to analyze the results of this month’s election, when Republicans took control of the Senate and increased their majority in the House of Representatives.
Schumer also said Democrats should "embrace government" in order to win future elections. Watch the whole speech here, courtesy of C-SPAN.

He’s trying to distance himself from himself for his next reelection run, which just happens to be in 2016. His head on a pole should be a priority, and the best way to rid the gov’t of him and a-holes like him is to primary him. The other way is illegal.

That’s what the Democrat’s have been doing since the United States became a country. It hasn’t worked yet, other than to make the Government, (Federal, State and Local), even bigger and more intrusive into the Citizens daily lives.

Wakes up? Give me a break. Anyone who believes his BS is a fool.
He’s just faulting their grubering. He doesn’t feel that there was anything wrong with foisting this mess on Americans, he’s only criticizing the spin and positioning of the fiasco.
This is just the next step to turn to Hillary for salvation. She will be asked to mend Obamacare, not end it. And she will focus on jobs and the economy distancing herself from Obama.

If there are any Dems who really get Obama, that he is a classic Malignant Narcissist, there is one approach that just might work. Tell him the American people don’t appreciate him, and therefore don’t deserve him. Convince him that the greatest revenge he can take on the country is to deprive it of his Wonness.
If the Dem leadership can make that case persuasively enough, Obama might resign as a means of punishing the people who no longer swoon at his reading of the teleprompter. He might take his ill gotten gains and do some high c a l i b e r chooming while he waits for America to wake up and regret losing the best POTUS [in his view] we ever had.
It’s a slim hope, but it’s about all there is, realistically speaking.
It was the worst idea ever, yet they pushed it down the the throats of Americans without a single Republican vote.

Yesterday Valerie said Boehner went to zero and begged him to put off immigration until after the election, and zero said OK.

Well thats certainly plausible. I think a lot of that goes on...meetings scheduled but Barry is AWOL. Perhaps he was admiring himself in the hall mirror. After all a guy has to prioritize...
To be more precise, I believe that he called Schumer a 'putzhead', which was an apt description indeed.

They just figured out that the majority of Senators who voted for Obamacare are no longer Senators.
