On Monday Rep. Marcia Fudge (D-OH) called the grand jury’s decision not to indict officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of Michael Brown a “miscarriage of justice.”
In a statement released through the Congressional Black Caucus, which she chairs, Fudge said the decision not to indict Wilson “is a slap in the face to Americans nationwide who continue to hope and believe that justice will prevail.”
“This decision seems to underscore an unwritten rule that Black lives hold no value; that you may kill Black men in this country without consequences or repercussions,” Fudge said. “This is a frightening narrative for every parent and guardian of Black and brown children, and another setback for race relations in America.”
“My heart goes out to Michael Brown’s loved ones, and to the loved ones of all the Michael Browns we have buried in this country,” Fudge said.
Last week, G.K. Butterfield, the incoming chair of the Congressional Black Caucus — and former Superior Court judge — said that a crime “probably was committed” in the shooting and he warned that if [grand jurors] turn their backs on justice
there will be pushback from those who are concerned about it and Im one of those whos concerned about it. There will be pushback. We will be asking questions.
Miscarriage of justice OJ chuckles.
And other blacks are the ones who kill the vast majority of blacks. Clean up your community THEN come talk to me.
Nope.
In the urban plantations, when a Black innocent person is killed, not as the result of their own actions, and it's not believed that the person who killed them was not Black, nobody outside the deceased's immediate circle of family/friends gets mad.
If Republicans don’t jump on that and run with it, it will be a missed opportunity.
Abortion is nothing BUT a black holocaust.
Oops he is a black business owner...
psst...whites nor conservatives did this to your business... it was blacks and liberals.
You are describing what I called “community agitators”, FRiend.
I understand that there are many communities where the agitators hold outsized sway, but I am focusing on the difference between the aggrievement industry and on real communities, where people band together for common good while defending themselves as well.
I don’t think I’d be in any hurry to repair the damage. Are they going to trust the thugs not to continue their rampage? I sure wouldn’t. I imagine there is not a lot of choice in this matter and that is a crying shame. That’s where the politicians words need to be aimed - at the looters and those who enjoy destroying the property of others for the sheer pleasure they get from it.
Everyone wants things to be better but what on earth steps does this politician or any other advise the country take to make it so? Nothing specific from any of them.
Truthfully, I think they all enjoy the pandemonium. Like the inhabitants of Gaza, where would they be if they didn’t have gripes? What would they do with their lives? Go to work like normal people and achieve something? Nah! No future in that. People would stop giving them attention then.
Fudge is a typical race baiter. Why didn’t she talk about how the “gentle giant” committing a crime. Always blaming someone else for their problem. The thug culture will continue until they come clean and admit they have a problem with their culture.
“”You notice there was no violence in Detroit last night?””
Is there anything there left to destroy?
Most black deaths are caused by other blacks, so I guess blacks don’t put much value on their own lives!
You have no idea how ignorant that sounds but its a “consensus” opinion at FR so its expected.
“”You have no idea how ignorant that sounds but its a consensus opinion at FR so its expected.””
Or it could be from articles, news releases and pictures of abandoned residential and commercial properties?
So the media is trustworthy if you agree.
LOL
Compare General Russel L. Honoré, Rep. Alan West, Dr Ben Carson with Rev. Al, Jesse Jack-— and you will see Marcia maybe right, sometimes!
A thug is a thug is a THUG, even if they are hosts on MSNBC!
Would it be racist to point out that they did not burn the chicken place down, even though it’s called Lee’s? just wondering....
At Planned Parenthood they have written material from the founder that Black lives are worthless to society and that black babies should be killed in abortion.
We won’t hear this demonrat mention that reality.
If there is such an unwritten rule, it was you CBC types that wrote it.
Thug lives have no value, except to the thug.
Like these from Curbed.com?
A turreted 7 bedroom (w/approx. 6K sq. ft.) tudor home for $375K
or
A 10,000 square foot mansion sold for $739K
or
A 12,000 square foot home for less than $200K
These are just three out of many well-built homes that are/were available in the Detroit area. Even the ones that need a lot of work are built better and have more architectural details than most new homes built today.
Definitely a lot more good going on in Detroit at an accelerating rate than most realize. There is a building and buying boom going on.
The bankruptcy really broke things loose. The Packard plant has been sold, taxes paid and cleanup begun in preparation for a half billion dollar renovation. Developers are competing for access to the old Tiger stadium site. The creditors traded the site of the new Red Wings arena for even more valuable river front property and a Texas hotel and condominium firm has apparently gotten on board with plans for new luxury hotels, residential, retail and business construction.
They have a long way to go but the movement is in the right direction.
