WASHINGTON (AP) — A two-year investigation by the Republican-controlled House Intelligence Committee has found that the CIA and the military acted properly in responding to the 2012 attack on a U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, and asserted no wrongdoing by Obama administration appointees.
Debunking a series of persistent allegations hinting at dark conspiracies, the investigation of the politically charged incident determined that there was no intelligence failure, no delay in sending a CIA rescue team, no missed opportunity for a military rescue, and no evidence the CIA was covertly shipping arms from Libya to Syria.

This is not Trey Gowdy’s investigation or report. I would venture a guess that he may have a very different picture to present.
That Mike Rogers is the guy who had a staffer who works for Cankles now.

This is a Republican led committee just the same and it looks bad for them to release this information.
I remember when Chris Christie hung out with Obama and praised his response to the hurricane right before the 2012 election. My wife interpreted his comments as an endorsement of Obama.

House Intel Committee dismisses some Benghazi myths

The House Intelligence Committee dismissed on Friday a number of the most persistent myths about the 2012 terrorist attacks at a diplomatic outpost in Benghazi.
The committee, chaired by Republican Chairman Mike Rogers of Michigan, found the U.S. government didn’t fail to send assistance to the Americans under siege by Islamic militants and there was no “stand down order” from the State Department. The committee also dismissed the notion that there was an “intelligence failure” the allowed the attacks to occur.
But the committee did rule that a number of individuals involved with Al Qaeda were involved with the attacks and Abu Sufian bin Qumu, a Libyan national, “probably played some role” in the attacks. Qumu was a prisoner at Guantanamo Bay before he was transferred to Libya in 2001.

My biggest surprise is, the fact that anyone and I do mean
anyone is surprised by this.
Many of us here have stated that Issa and his committee are nothing but Kabuki Theater for us out here in Flyover Country.
This is just the beginning.
Over the next two years we will see several of the House committees “investigating” the Obama scandals make their finding public in Friday News Dumps. At that time we will suddenly discover, these “phony scandals” were just mistakes or happenstance.

One of the dirty secrets the Republican Party does not want the general public to know is that many Republicans are secretly happy with what Mr. Obama is doing. They have a simple strategy. They want the amnesty issue off the table by 2016 so that Jeb Bush, Mitt Romney or whoever the great RINO hope is will not have to fight the conservative base on that issue.
Republicans long ago learned the trick of doing nothing but appearing to do something. Former House Majority Leader Eric Cantor was a master of this. He is the reason why the House of Representatives voted more than 50 times to repeal Obamacare. He knew those votes were meaningless but the Republican congressmen could go home and claim they were doing something.
