Republican Gov.-elect Bruce Rauner on Friday called President Barack Obamas executive action on immigration a great start to get the dialogue going on immigration policy changes.
The comments came as Rauner addressed more than 900 advocates for the Latino community in Rosemont. Rauner told the crowd he supports comprehensive immigration reform, which he acknowledged will take more work. Immigration reform 'opens doors' NIU student and undocumented citizen, Laura Ramirez, faces daily challenges of living without citizenship.
The real way to do it is on a bipartisan basis, through Congress, through the legislature, with the president, with the states all working together to make sure the changes are permanent, theyre structurally in place for the long term, said Rauner, receiving applause.
Later, when asked by a reporter if he supported Obamas executive orders, Rauner said Its good that the president gets the discussion moving.

I am going to hurl
God save us from RINOs
With Republicans like these, who needs Democrats?
F***. So IL replaced one idiotic libtard with another libtard who happens to have an elephant for a symbol. Unreal.
The Illinois governorship seems to have been, more than not, a launching pad to a career in a federal penitentiary.
I wonder how many years it will be before Rauner makes the big move to the big house.
Former Illinois Gov. George Ryan will be leaving prison and heading to a halfway house after serving more than five years for corruption. His departure from prison follows a rich, if ignominious, history in Illinois of ex-governors arriving in and departing from prison.
Of Illinois’ last seven governors, four have ended up going to prison. They are:
_Rod Blagojevich Governor from 2002 through 2009, when he became the first Illinois governor in history to be impeached. Convicted of numerous corruption charges in 2011, including allegations that he tried to sell or trade President Barack Obama’s old Senate seat.
_ George Ryan Governor from 1999 through 2003. After leaving office, was convicted of racketeering for actions as governor and secretary of state. In November 2007, began serving a 6 1/2 year sentence in federal prison.
_ Dan Walker Governor from 1973-1977. Pleaded guilty to bank fraud and other charges in 1987 related to his business activities after leaving office. Spent about a year and a half in federal prison.
_ Otto Kerner Governor from 1961-1968. Resigned to become judge, then was convicted of bribery related to his tenure as governor. Sentenced to three years in prison.
Why do Republicans pander to those who voted for their Rat challengers? Rats don’t pander to Teapartiers. Instead, they insult them.
RINO’s are worse than Democrats, they enable the destruction of the country and give cover to the enemy
Yep.
“God save us from RINOs”
::::::::::
Very few of them take office to work for the people. It is all about corrupt politics for their own empowerment and enrichment. Obama is the leading example of ideological empowerment — ala Marxist/Alinsky style. None of the means matter — only the results — which are not to support and protect the American people.
Rauner appears to be just another RINO who is already thinking about the next election by sucking up to the Latino crowd.
Yeah. Chicago and environs is absolutely overrun already.
And the real flood hasn’t even hit yet.
FUBR
I don’t want to hear any bitching from the lesser evil/no matter what/any Pubbie is better than a demovrt” frauds.
This guy and his actions are their responsibility.
Well, he sure ain’t mine.
Ping.
This is what I was talking about concerning Illinois’ “republican” governor elect.
I’m sure there’s already a cell reserved for him in the State Pen along with all the other ex-govs.
