WASHINGTON (CNN) Opponents of President Barack Obama's plan, which makes sweeping changes to the nation's immigration system by use of executive order, focused their criticism on the legal case, saying Obama has overstepped the boundaries of his authority and is ignoring the will of the people.

Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul said he "will not sit idly by and let the President bypass Congress and our Constitution."
"President Obama is not above the law and has no right to issue executive amnesty. His actions blatantly ignore the Separations of Powers and the principles our country was founded on. The President has said 22 times previously that he does not have the power to legislate on immigration," Paul said in a statement.
"His actions are not only unconstitutional and in defiance of the American people who said they did not want amnesty in the 2014 elections, but they are also unfair to every immigrant who has come to our nation legally," Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas posted to his Facebook profile.
The attorneys general in Texas and Oklahoma both said they were planning lawsuits challenging Obama's authority to overhaul immigration rules without the approval of Congress.
In Texas, Attorney General Greg Abbott, who is weeks away from becoming governor, said in a statement he is "prepared to immediately challenge President Obama in court, securing our state's sovereignty and guaranteeing the rule of law as it was intended under the Constitution."
Some Republicans were working on ways to block Obama from implementing his immigration order. Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina posted on Youtube his case against the President's proposal.
"I will try to defund the effort for him to go at it alone," Graham said in a video post Thursday night. "We will challenge him in court."

Impeach.......yes. What is to be afraid of? The blacks will riot? They are doing that anyway. So now what is their objections, there is nothing to loose.
Impeachment is an option but as of today there are not enough votes in the Senate to convict.
Remember the House impeaches and the Senate holds a trial and convicts.
The problem is the democrats in the US Senate and the media. No matter how awful they can be, there is not enough force yet to overcome them.
But there is a quick path through federal courts to get a ‘temporary’ halt to Obama’s lawless actions. It will buy about a year or more and that will be enough time for conservative candidates for President to run a campaign on Obama’s lawlessness.
But we have to wait and see what Governors and State AGs will do.
Just thinking the same thing. The nerf squad reports for hammer duty.
[[GOP hammers case against Obama on immigration]]
Really? “Hammers”? Sorry, but I see NO impeachment suggestions being brought up by any on the right- at best, they will simply slap him on the wrist and with a wink and a nod say ‘don’t do that again’ once the damage has already been done! The GOP has known this was going to happen for quite some time now, and they SHOULD HAVE made it perfectly clear that IF the commander in chief REFUSED top abide by the laws he took a VOW to uphold that they would remove him for dereliction of duty and for betraying this country!
Much prayer is needed. We are all so tired of this monster in the WH and just seems nothing can or will stop him.
VERY GOOD POINT! By threatening to riot and kill us all over the stupid Ferguson decision, they have paved the way for impeachment preparations. Those who were afraid of tiots can now join with those who were never afraid—we have plenty of support!
I have some tenants, and I could tell you some stories of how I am SO NOT afraid of them.
tiots and riots both
Yes they can impeach but won’t because of the possible political repercussions. They can do a Kennedy or McKinley or Lincoln but won’t because that is simply not nor should it be done any longer. What should be done is an in depth investigation into his qualifications to be President. I suspect this is a much more productive pile in which to start digging.
Maybe this is Obama’s way of legalizing himself. GOP must impeach for high crimes and misdemeanors. If GOP does not impeach the tea party will swell and and we will see the slow decline of the Republican party forever. I will be first in line to renounce.

They need to defund ALL Obola’s travel. Cut off her taxpayer funded vacations and golf.
The Rise of Minority Nationalism now threatens the government of the USA. “Si, Si se Puedo!”
Obama has declared Demographic Warfare on an adversary public
as punishment for failure to go along with Obamas ideological, Utopian fascis policies.
The Obama bad boys are about to be turfed, ridiculed and ignored.
Conservatives like Sessions need to skip the hyperventilation over Traitorobama, which only preaches to the choir anyway. We're beyond that stage now. It is time for conservatives in the House and Senate (and those coming in January), to set up and act on the necessary plans to bring down this traitor in the White House and defeat his treachery. Don't waste time trying to convert or inform Traitorobama's allies in the fifth-column MSM, whose only socially redeeming value is to eventually burn in hell.
I’d love to see a movement arise among businesses to develop a “we only hire citizens” movement. Might not have a huge impact, and would probably make them targets for accusations of racism by the usual cast of characters, but it would likely accomplish more than we can expect from the GOP leadership and the courts.
Well I do agree with you that they need to follow up their words with direct action.
