I’m the same way. I live in the county. The law here is 500ft away from the dwelling... that is, the complaining dwelling.
My neighbors won’t call the law unless we repeatedly fire automatics. I guess it is disturbing his sunday afternoon nap.

I live in the county here but in the developed part with 10 foot lot borders. I used to have a problem with squirrels getting into my attic. Began popping them off the tree with my 38, with shot shells, when my neighbor asked me if I had heard some gun fire. I said, yeah I been blasting the suckers off the trees leading to my roof. He said, can you do the same for me!
