On the night of September 9, 2009, a still highly popular President Barack Obama spoke spiritedly to a joint session of Congress. He had summoned the members of both parties to introduce his plan to transform American health care.
The promises he made that night were many and, to most in the television audience, at least, sounded fresh. Nothing in this plan will require you or your employer to change the coverage or the doctor you have, said the president. Let me repeat this: nothing in our plan requires you to change what you have.
Simmering throughout this litany of disinformation was an obscure five-term South Carolina congressman named Joe Wilson. When Obama denounced as false the claim that this proposed health care system would insure legal immigrants, Wilson could hold his tongue no longer. You lie! he yelled.
[SNIP of a very good read]
.....During a debate with McCain in 2008, Obama falsely claimed that because of a pre-existing condition Cigna refused to cover his mothers cancer treatment. Even after this trumpery was exposed in the New York Times, he repeated it in a 2012 campaign ad. A man who was willing to lie about the death of his mother surely would have no trouble lying to voters about their health care plans. But then again, given their stupidity, there was no other way to get the bill passed.
Bart Stupak should have seen it coming. Joe Wilson did.

God bless PATRIOT Joe Wilson!
Obama, the confident liar.
I can guarantee you that Bart Stupak wasn’t deceived. He knew full well.
For Later
As I recall Wilson took in a couple of million bucks in donations over the next 24 hours.
Our congressman brought him to speak to our annual Republican event here in our district not long after he had become “public enemy number 1” in the Press. He was a great speaker and a quick look at his bio will tell you why.

I’ve tried to start a fund raising campaign for Joe Wilson to erect a statue to him in DC. Entitled “Joe Wilson; the last man in Washington to tell the truth.”
0bamanites brush aside the lies about the ACA by saying the policies lost were junk policies. I looked over my policy and discovered I wasnt covered for birth control or pregnancy. Im a 68 year old male with a junk policy.
This inspires me to get out my old “YOU LIE” t-shirt! I bought it on line right after Joe Wilson and wore it to the protest for Obamacare. Very popular!
“I can guarantee you that Bart Stupak wasnt deceived. He knew full well.”
I’m thinking the same. Stupack was clear that he wanted socialized medicine and he was definitely going to find some contorted way to support it, hell or high water.
There was NO WAY the Dems were not going to pass Obamacare. They knew they’d never see those numbers in Congress again and they knew people (stupidly) ‘trusted’ this president. They would have passed it Gruber or not.
But the fun part now is watching the reaction of shock to Gruber. “My God, they REALLY were lying”. Gruber has given an (unprotected) face to Obamacare, and I LOVE IT.
And then gutless Boehner forced him to apologize after Rahm Emmanuel had a coniption.
I’ve been posting Joe Wilson’s name here and there for the past couple of weeks.
I thought a day needed to be named in his honour. Every time I watch the news, this guy comes to mind. He called Obama out a LONG time ago. He needs to be apologized TO for being forced to apologize for telling the truth!
