One of my guides on my safari this past August told me that the head of the Google Glass project had stayed at the lodge a few weeks earlier. I remarked that having that gizmo on safari to record would be a pretty cool thing. The guide said the guy didn't even bring them with him on that trip.

If the head of the project didn't even see any value of having them there for a safari (to record video/images of animals) then that tells me they're really not that useful.

I see nothing wrong with them.

It’s just a combination of dolts freaking out thinking that it would be recording them 24/7, and Google sitting on it for months without releasing a consumer product that is pushing this past their window to really take advantage of the hype.

I would get one, but I’m not paying a ton for it.

another Segway.

Reminds me of when the Segway first came out. Everybody thought it would change everything. Automobile congestion in major cities was going to come to an end because everybody would leave their cars home (or in outlying garages) and just zip around downtown on their personal Segways.

Only problem was, you looked like a total dork on a Segway and no self-respecting person would ride one.

Same issue that Google Glass seems to have.

I believe several republicans were on the original ‘explorer’ list to try GoogleGlass. Among them were Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich. This may be most useful for those involved in the exactitude of placement; as with surgeons , architects, auto mechanics, story board designers for virtual reality games or 3D movies.
