Felt it in the seat of my pants yesterday.

Occurred at the same time that the U.S. Supreme Court allowed gay marriage the go ahead in Kansas. God is sending a warning.
Bush’s fault, for sure.
Shouldn’t the earthquake have been in DC instead?

Are they fracking in Kansas?
I'm from SoCal...I know earthquakes!!
Earthquakes are fascinating.
Somehow this earthquake maintained a magnitude of 4.8 throughout the State of Kansas.
Buckle your seat belts. You are likely to feel some aftershocks too. Hopefully they won’t be as strong. We here in CA are familiar with these adventures.
I dunno, but just the same ABC radio news on the hour tried blaming fracking for the earthquake.

That was the burrito.
I'm in NE Kansas and nothing was felt here.
When we heard about the quake on the 10:00 p.m. news, the word was it happened north and west of our home but didn't measure on any seismographic equipment.
Many people did notice the tremble, again west and north of the Metro Kansas City (MO) area but rather north and a bit west of Lawrence/Topeka, KS.
The New Madrid fault is on the other side of Missouri. I’ve never heard of an earthquake of that magnitude in Kansas.

The largest recorded was estimated at 5.5 in Wamego, Riley county in 1867. There is an area known as the Humboldt fault zone It roughly follows the Flint hills (the Nemaha uplift.)
There was also a small 2.8 earthquake today near Prescott not far off 69 highway.

5.5 in 1867 in Wamego, KS? That would have been Dorothy landing on the Wicked Witch of the East. Wamego is the home of the Wizard of Oz museum. (and also of several of my cousins.)
I felt nothing in Topeka.
