Washington(CNN)--As Congress voted on the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, in 2010, one of the bill's architects, MIT economist Jonathan Gruber, told a college audience that those pushing the legislation pitched it as a bill that would control spiraling health care costs even though most of the bill was focused on something else and there was no guarantee the bill would actually bend the cost curve.
In recent days, the past comments of Gruber--who in this 2010 speech notes that he "helped write the federal bill" and "was a paid consultant to the Obama administration to help develop the technical details as well"--have been given renewed attention. In previously posted but recently noticed speeches, Gruber discusses how those pushing the bill took part in an "exploitation of the lack of economic understanding of the American voter," taking advantage of voters' "stupidity" to create a law that would ultimately be good for them.
In this fourth video, Gruber's language is not as stark as in three previous instances, but his suggestion that Obamacare proponents engaged in less-than-honest salesmanship remains.
"Barack Obama's not a stupid man, okay?" Gruber said in his remarks at the College of the Holy Cross on March 11, 2010. "He knew when he was running for president that quite frankly the American public doesn't actually care that much about the uninsured....What the American public cares about is costs. And that's why even though the bill that they made is 90% health insurance coverage and 10% about cost control, all you ever hear people talk about is cost control. How it's going to lower the cost of health care, that's all they talk about. Why? Because that's what people want to hear about because a majority of American care about health care costs."
You can watch the speech on the C-SPAN website here.....

.....When a study came out showing that Obamacare increased Emergency Room visits, contrary to claims of the laws supporters, Gruber said the claim that it would lower costs was misleading.
The law isnt designed to save money. Its designed to improve health, and thats going to cost money, Gruber said.....
Well this just gets better and better...
A lot of Americans and many freepers have amnesia, when it comes to this documented ObamaCare voter history in Congress!
The documented history on the ObamaCare votes in Congress. Every single democrat senator and every single democrat congressit voted to make this Obamacare the law without reading nor understanding what they voted for.
Every single Republican in Congress voted against this Obamacare.
So, the stupid rats in congress own ObamaCare as per their own expert, Herr Grubers You Tube comments.
This just goes to show that even the most highly educated libs are still idiots.
This is great.
Some FReeper yesterday made the observation about how much it would now suck to be this Gruber guy, trying to remember all of the times you gave the “people are stupid” speech, and in what venues, wondering every hour if another video will be aired. HA
Less than a minute earlier. :)

House passes health-care reform bill without Republican votes "..... The House voted 219 to 212 to approve the measure, with every Republican voting no. The measure now awaits President Obama's signature. In remarks Sunday night, he said that the vote "proved that we are still capable of doing big things. We proved that this government -- a government of the people and by the people -- still works for the people."
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her colleagues erupted in cheers and hugs as the votes were counted, while Republicans who had fought the Democratic efforts on health-care reform for more than a year appeared despondent.
"Today we have the opportunity to complete the great unfinished business of our society and pass health insurance reform for all Americans as a right, not a privilege," Pelosi said before the House approved the bill, which first passed the Senate on Christmas Eve.
The debate has consumed Obama's first year in office, with his focus on the issue amid a deep recession and crippling job losses potentially endangering his reelection prospects and Democratic majorities in the House and the Senate. It has inflamed the partisanship that Obama pledged to tame when he campaigned for the White House and has limited Congress's ability to pass any other major legislation, at least until after the midterm elections in November.
And it has sparked a citizens' revolt that reached the doors of the Capitol this weekend."
"If we pass this bill, there will be no turning back," House Minority Leader John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) warned on the floor. "In a democracy, you can only ignore the will of the people for so long and get away with it." ............

From one recent Gruber video:
Until a second Massachusetts hero arose, John Kerry. John Kerry said no-no were not going to tax your heath insurance, were going to tax those evil insurance companies. Were going to impose a tax that if they sell health insurance thats too expensive were going to tax them. And conveniently the tax rate will happen to be the marginal tax rate on the income tax code. So basically its the same thing we just tax insurance companies, they pass on higher prices, that offsets the tax break we get into being the same thing. Its a very clever basic exploitation of the lack of economic understanding of the American voter.
Yet democrats persist in arguing that taxes on companies do not raid the bank accounts of customers.
No problem ... and thank you.
CBS reporting on CNN story: “......Asked about Grubers comments from a 2013 University of Pennsylvania panel in which the economist said a lack of transparency was a huge political advantage for the President in selling the bill to the American people, White House press secretary Josh Earnest said the process associated with writing and passing and implementing the Affordable Care Act has been extraordinarily transparent.
Earnest insisted it is Republicans who have been less than forthright and transparent about what their proposed changes to the Affordable Care Act would do in terms of the choices that are available to middle-class families. I know there is at least one very prominent Republican who campaigned for reelection saying that he would repeal the Affordable Care Act, but yet keep in place the Affordable Care Act marketplace that has operated very successfully in his state.
Asked about Grubers reference to the stupidity of the American voter, Earnest said, I disagree vigorously with that assessment.
Gruber declined to comment to CNN.
On Thursday, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., was asked about Grubers remarks. I dont know who he is, she said. He didnt help write our bill. A Washington Post story noted that Pelosi in 2009 cited Grubers work approvingly.”.....
“Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Thursday said that comments from an ObamaCare consultant questioning voters intelligence fit the definition of a Washington gaffe when someone inadvertently tells you what they believe is true.
What this insider is saying confirms that they were spinning tales from the beginning that they did not tell the truth about ObamaCare, McConnell said during a briefing shortly after Republicans elected him majority leader in the next Congress......”
Thanks for the excellent link to a great article discussing and documenting the lies of the Fascist Pelosi.

He had to be talking about this A LOT for there to be multiple videos of it being said, because he couldn’t have been recorded every single time he said it.
