Almost half the residents of Florida, including much of the state’s glitzy southern half, are barely getting by, living below the federal poverty level or struggling to pay for food, housing, childcare and other basic needs, according to a United Way study released Tuesday.

Six years of Obamanomics. Things not better.

Finally the "objective" media finds the truth. Accidentally.

I’m waiting for the media to admit it about most of the other states as well; things in the northeast are grim.

The communists Democrats finally got what they wanted. Control over the population and driving the middle class and poor into slavery. As we get closer to driving the rest of the middle class into poverty the closer we will be a dictatorship. That is how the collective destroy. In a few years voting will mean nothing but allowing the communists Democrats to just select the President. The Senate and House will mean nothing as they mean nothing much now.

Thank God we’ve turned the corner. “There isn’t single corner of the economy that isn’t better off today than it was 6 years ago.”. We love you bronco. You so mahvelous. Mega barf alert. And how much did united way spend to come up with that conclusion? Didiots.

There are two solutions:
Remove restrictions and taxes on businesses so they can hire more and/or pay better wages.
Promise more government assistance which will mean more taxes on everyone else.

Guess what the Dems will push for.

Somebody didn’t get the memo. These studies are only supposed to be done when a Republican is in the White House.

My first thought was that of economist Philip K. Robins, that these numbers “might not factor in all government subsidies.” They so often don’t.

My second thought was that my husband would throw a hissy fit if we were tossing two perfectly intact rolls like that. Soon as I saw that picture, I heard him yelp, “Hey, either save them for later or give them to me.” Frugality is high High Art.

That said, I am all for financial counseling and helping people manage their money. I am less sold on the United Way’s other goals; the long-term results of early education are much debated, and I have a suspicion the United Way and I don’t see eye-to-eye on how to get “affordable healthcare coverage.”

Don’t think this article is the media “finding the truth” about Obamanomics, because I suspect they’re just using every method they have in order to ask for more of the same.

I used to give regularly to the United Way; we could do that through employee deduction.

Later, when the United Way decided to withhold money from Boy Scouts because that organization wouldn’t endorse sodomy (of course the Boy Scouts have since changed), I decided to not give to the United Way any more.

Now, the United Way does fundraisers (like book sales, etc.) with my work....and I do not participate. Nor do I donate to the United Way any more.

no kidding and if they try to raise electric any more, I’ll be sitting in the dark and if I get any calls saying, “Is your refrigerator running?”, I can say, “yes, but that’s the only thing that is...”

Does this mean those of us still employed will still be badgered at work to give to United Way to fund more unnecessary studies?

Yah. Supposedly the local United Way won’t give to a couple of organizations I particularly dislike, and will give to some I’m fine with, but I’d rather give direct to the ones I support.

I have to think that many photographers are conservatives. So many of these articles have pictures which almost contradict the written word.
