ROCKVILLE, Md. – Christmas is now just December 25th in the Montgomery County school district.
The suburban DC district stripped Christmas and Jewish holy holidays from its official calendar after Muslim parents complained.
But that’s not good enough as they say the move does “nothing to gain parity and a day off for the Muslim holiday of Eid,” according to WTOP.
“Equality is really what we’re looking for,” Saqib Ali, co-chair of Equality for Eid, says. “Simply saying we’re not going to call this Christmas, and we’re not going to call this Yom Kippur, and still closing the schools, that’s not equality.”
CAIR isn’t happy either.
“What’s really concerning to us is that similar conditions weren’t placed on any other faith community,” a representative of the group, Zainab Chaudry, says, the station reports.
The district is attempting to decouple the breaks from school and religious holidays by calling them “winter break” and “student holidays.”
But school board member Michael Durso says unless the Muslim’s complaints aren’t addressed, “it comes off as insensitive, and I just think we cannot afford to be in that light.”
According to NBC 4, school employee Samira Hussein has campaigned for 20 years to have the Muslim holiday added to the school calendar.
“The Eid is just the same exact as Christmas day or Easter day or Yom Kippur,” she says.
School representatives note absenteeism isn’t much different on the Muslim holidays.
“The absentee rate on the Eid holidays, when they’ve fallen on a school day, haven’t been considerably higher or lower than it is on any other given day,” spokesman Dana Tofig tells the news station.
The Washington Post reports the board 7-1 to stop recognizing the Christian and Jewish holidays.
“This seems the most equitable option,” said board member Rebecca Smondrowski, who proposed the idea, according to the paper.
I suggest that if these third world a-holes want to practice what they call a religion then they need to go back to their spidey holes and quit attempting to change our culture. No on invited them and no one wants them so they can take their crap back to where ever they crawled from.

I once said essentially the same thing to the office liberal.
His response was that we had to be tolerant....I asked him how tolerant the muzzies were. He was sure they were quite tolerant. So I pressed the issue - and asked him how many synagogues were in U.A.E.
He said ‘probably a dozen’.
A web search yielded either one or zero (can’t remember) - but he was visibly shaken. He just couldn’t believe the poor muzzies were so intolerant.
The school board is afraid they’ll get beheaded if they don’t do it.
No can do. Islam will always be inferrior to Judaism and Christianity.
“Ummm...it”s an official federal holiday”.
Whereas EID or whatever is an official FERAL holiday.
The government as well.
Any federal employee who takes off Thanksgiving or Christmas, or schedules vacation during either period, is summarily fired.
Let’s see what happens when those chickens roost.
That’s not the point!! the Muslims came into this country and are demanding change to accommodate their sick warped laws .....before you know it they will be pushing sharia law down our throats. You give them an inch they take a freaking mile! Now imagine them having schools all across America in an abundance teaching our children to be anti-American and possibly train them as homegrown terrorist! I hate the muslim community because they are truly very frightening! Their agenda has always been to capture America and make it a Muslim country. England is so dangerously heading in that direction! If they don’t like the laws of this country I say deported them. Why should we change our way of living in our country to accommodate them .....hell no!!! They have an evil agenda and with the help of our laws they are accomplishing some of their wishes little by little. In England it is out of control because they never reigned them in now they are huge problem and endangering their way of life!! Even more scary imagine those hard-core Muslims making laws for America and having high positions in our government which will force the American people to accept their Muslim laws.
The idea is subjugation and sharia. Not playing nice.

Bunkum. Easter is always on Sunday! What public schools open on Sunday.
Christmas is a Federal Holiday falling in the mid winter break along with New Years Day. Schools closed for about 10 days.
eid (does not deserve a capitol letter) floats along depending on the moon cycle and happens at different times of the years.
Interesting that only the muzzlemen are offended, Other religions do not seem to have a problem with AMERICA’S HOLIDAYS.

No it’s not you liar. El Eid is not as significant to Muslims as Christmas is to Christians.
Are they going to take eid al-fitr off the calendar when Christians complain? We already know the answer to that one.

We stole the southwest from the Mexicans which doesn't really count since they stole it from the American Indian.
We stole the rest of the country from the American Indian and then force marched them on the Trail of Tears.
We developed the country we stole with people who had been stolen from Africa; people owned much as one might own a dog.
It sure wasn't a Christian nation back then.
Then came abortion laws; laws protecting animals who have sex with their own gender (they like to call themselves "gay"); govt policies that forbid any rational discussion of God, Jesus Christ or the Bible in any school; ad infinitum .
Maybe, just maybe, we might presume to call America Christian for some time after the black man was allowed to sit with and live in the same neighborhoods as whites but before liberalism hijacked the government. But that was a mighty small window IMO.

Listen you politically correct, liberal moron, how about you be more “sensitive” to the beliefs that the majority of this country holds. The beliefs upon which this country was founded.
We may have fallen short of the idea, but still, our nation was grounded in Judeo-Christian beliefs, even if they weren’t always practiced.
We have been “tolerant”...We have allowed the “poor, huddled masses” into our country to try and better their lot in life for years...In the beginning, it worked out very well for both the people and our country...The Italians, Irish, Asians...We forged a strong country with the help of these immigrants...
But, we’ve allowed liberalism to bastardize our good intentions the founding fathers bestowed on us...
They have gone too far...
It’s time to get serious and kick out the bastards that have no intention of accepting the good we have offered for so long and only intend to bring our country DOWN to their meager level of existence...
It’s time to take our country back...........
