Senate Democrats are working on plans to hold a vote authorizing construction of the Keystone XL pipeline -- approval that Democrats believe might bolster the chances of Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.), who faces a tough runoff election next month.
It was not immediately clear Tuesday night whether Republicans would consent to proceeding with such a vote during the lame-duck session that begins on Wednesday -- especially given the high stakes surrounding Landrieu's reelection race. Such a move would also draw howls from the environmental movement who had hoped that President Obama would resolve a years-long dispute over a long-awaited energy project in their favor.
Several Senate Democratic aides confirmed on Tuesday evening that talks are underway to allow for a vote authorizing construction of the pipeline in the coming days. The aides, who were not authorized to speak publicly on the matter, said that details on language of the bill authorizing and its timing were not yet settled, but likely would be among the topics of conversation as Congress reconvenes Wednesday.

I predicted here about a week ago that Obama’s first veto override would be Keystone. The unions whose members actually build stuff all want it, so there’s plenty of cover for the RATS to vote for it.
If they don’t do it in the lame duck, it should be the first bill the GOP rams through in January.
Pop the Rats cherry on forcing a Veto override...
So Reid is going to allow the House bill(s) come to a vote? Typical of Reid to do something that is in his political favor.
The third Louisiana Purchase!
“So Reid is going to allow the House bill(s) come to a vote? Typical of Reid to do something that is in his political favor.”
The guy who confessed that as one of the architects of Obama Care, the objective was to deceive “stupid Americans” (paraphrasing). Well, if the Dem’s do this Keystone caper we will find out if Louisiana voters are stupid or not.
So this morning, we hear that Obama and the ChiComs are going to fight globull warning. He threw the US economy and Americans paying for utilities to heat their homes under the bus by saying the US will cut greenhouse emissions by 28%, while the ChiComs basically said they’d cut some too .a typical Obama decree.
Having paid off the environazies, he’ll give his blessing to the lame duck Dems approving the XL pipeline to save Landrieu’s seat. She must have some very important information they don’t want her to divulge. Hopefully, they will fail, and she will write a book.
A new coal plant goes online in China every 4 to 7 days.
The Chinese will probably consider some cuts there - move it to one every 8 to 14 days. (”We cut by 200%!! And you only 28%. You yankee dogs need to do more!”)
It’s more transparency.
This plan means that the Dems think that Louisiana voters are stupid. They get one good vote in exchange for six more years of liberalism when she is no longer under reelection pressure.
Let her cast this vote, and then they will throw her out anyway.
Even though it won't pass, it gives dead-in-the-water Landrieu
an advantage---the ability to say she voted to give Louisianans jobs.
"Hi voters. I just did a threesome w/ Obama and Harry to get
the pipeline bill moving. That's why my mouth looks so funny."

MARY HELPS HARRY--observers note that the Democrat-controlled Senate passed Obamacare 2010 "after a series of unsavory transactions that purchased the aye votes of several shrewdly extortionate Democrats"....with a huge pile of money still unaccounted for.
The most unsavory was Landrieu's $4.3 billion "Louisisana Purchase."
THE PAPER TRAIL IS HUGE Sen Landrieu (Scumocrat-LA) sold her aye vote in what Forbes Magazine dubbed "The 'Louisiana Purchase" that included a massive $4.3 Billion to Landrieu
FORBES REPORTED the Democrats nailed Landrieus support for Obamacare w/ a greenback bribe. Landrieu, critics believe, pledged her vote in exchange for some $200 million more additional federal funds for Louisiana. Except that, due to a drafting error, the law ended up giving Louisiana $4.3 billion: more than twenty times the assigned amount. MORE HERE http://www.forbes.com/fdc/welcome_mjx.shtml

BACKSTORY In the fall of 2009, Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) was trying to get the necessary 60 Dimocrat votes to pass the Affordable Care Act. He needed every Dim on board, which gave waffling senators a great deal of leverage. In Landrieu's case, she connivingly saw that selling her aye vote could get her maybe $200 million federal dollars. Obama complied. Reid chalked up another vote for Obamacare. But not the measly $200 million but $4.3 billon was attached to the Obamacare bill earmarked for Landrieu.
=================================================
How $4.3 billion to Landrieu was calculatedly attached to the Obamacare bill, and how Obama and Reid failed to catch and fix it, is yet another indictment of the Obamacare atrocity. The payoff to Landrieu should be investigated as an indication of how EVERY Democrat came to vote for Obamacare....and will help elect more lock-stepping Democrats.
First bill! Ok,
But the second bill to hit the senate is that with Obamacare
NO ONE IS EXEMPT
At this point, I believe the company that was going to do Keystone has given up and is going to build a pipeline to Canada’s West Coast - to sell to the Chinese instead.
Too little, too late.
Nothing is going to save Landrieu.
“Let her twist in the wind”-— Hussein Obama
Last week I was listening to Rush while driving, he called her Mary “baby fat” Landrieu...........I was laughing so hard I almost drove my truck off the road.
I dunno, they do some mighty fine cheatin’ down there......but I hope you're right.
Per the article, it looked as though the Republicans would have bought into the plan they’re discussion prior to the election - with that plan being to vote on Keystone, and give the Republicans a few token votes in exchange (not sure what on). The Republican votes are token because Keystone and the token votes would never get past the President. But Reid was protecting the president and thought he was protecting Democrat Senators by not allowing any votes.
So, now, they offer the same. But this time the token votes don’t hurt the other Senators because there are only a few up from red states in 2016, and that election is 2 years out. The result will be the same, nothing sees the light of day. Obama may promise to sign the bill on Dec. 7, one day after Baby Fat’s run-off...but then can say something like “Pearl Harbor Day is not a day to celebrate destruction of the planet”...and never get around to signing it.
Bottom line - Baby Fat’s chances for re-election improve greatly with no downside for Dems. And the Republicans are OUTSMARTED AGAIN.
So best policy - wait until January before allowing any vote on it.
This one won’t be close enough to cheat on.
